Has issues to work out... probably why it's discontinued.

Written on Dec 31, 2022

First off, the firs time I recieved the package that was supposed to contain this item the box was empty. A quick call to optics planet and they sent a new one out. Kuddos on that. Now on to the review on the item.

Similar to another reviewer on the actual OdinWorks site, and others experienceing similar issues on build forums, I have been struggling to get this barrel to cycle properly.

Upon completion of this build I took my rifle to the range to break in and sight in. Immediately noticed that the rifle would not cycle. I adjusted the gas block that came with the barrel throughout the full range (starting almoat fully closed) to minimal improvment. At the closed end the rifle did not cycle for obvious reasons (undergassed), but closer to fully opened the rifle still was not cycling properly (no ejection) but now with signs of overgassing on the brass paired with excess gas in the chamber.

After researching I purchased a new BCG with smaller firing pin, firing pin hole, and dual ejectors. I followed the process through the full range of the gas block once again and WAS able to achieve ejection on Hornady brass, but not with federal whihc was stovepiping on every shot. Signs of overgass were gone, but cycling issues not fixed.... more research...

I decided to purchase a superlative arms bleed off gas block that has a larger range of adjustability AND odin works AR-10 Adjustable Buffer for what appears to be timing issues. SA Block came in, but i've been waiting on the OW
