I like these for all hex rails but not for round rails. Is laterally strong. Be careful when tightening T nuts because there is some space under the handstop allowing the polymer to crack.
I absolutely love these. Identical to the BAD branded. I have both. One of the narrowest shortest hand stops on the market. Very smooth all over including edges. The screw is toward the back and under the stop has a protrusion that fits into the mlok to keep in place. Anodizing is perfect.: lightweight.
I like these extended bolt catches a lot. Installed on 1 forged and 2 billet AR15 lowers. great fitting strong metal and functional. I like that these are 1 piece that completely replaces the mil spec bolt catch. The black finish is even and hard.
It is very easy to put the pivot pin without tools. The rear take down pin is easy enough ti install without the shift pin design so IMO it is unnecessary to use this specialty pin. I would rather have saved a few bucks and had a regular takedown pin or in the package instead. Unfortunately this is the only AR10 LR308 pin set they had. I would have preferred a lightweight aluminum set like I have in my AR15s.)
I really like the design of the levers on this safety but it won’t turn when you put the detent in . Even without spring tension. Both the 45 and 90 are drilled too deep and too much material left in between to allow the detent to slide from side to side. Could not even fix it with a dremel tool. IMO Leapers UTG should recall this batch and send out a new properly made barrel to everyone that got an unusable part.
Love the shape of the levers but the mechanism is 3mm wider than mil spec lower ar15 & ar10 dpms. Levers also flaired out to be a total of 5mm wider than the lowers I tried it on. Sending back for refund and trying another brand.
Quality control issue? My tube looked awesome on the outside but was rippled inside where the threaded portion is and the inside was like 320 grit sandpaper. I have a $10 no name tube thats as smooth and slick as glass. You don’t always get what you pay for!
Does not have the wider sides of most guards that fit flush to outside of the receiver. The front connector is a one sided spring loaded pin. The rear is a roll pin. Most of the extra space is directly below the trigger if straight shoe is used not to the front lower portion where it is most needed. If you have a curved trigger it gives a lot of room for gloved finger
The grip is well made and is very comfortable BUT does not fit flush on AR lowers. All they did was cut the beaver tail off flush without narrowing the top of the grip so it atickes out about a 1/4” from the lower. Looks and feels like total garbage like that. I also have one with the beaver tail on my AR15 and it is the most amazing grip but the tail doesn’t fit on my ar 10 lower unfortunately. See pic.
The rubber overlay is only on the sides and it is not much softer than the polymer. It is definitely rough and grippy wet hands would not be a problem. The front of the grip will give you sore fingers and then calluses after repeated use because there are hard polymer ribs from top to bottom with very squared off edges. I would prefer the front of the grip to be rubber. It is lightweight. Should come with a bolt and lock washer. I had to fish around in my garage to find a longer bolt. The grip thickness at the bolt is 11 mm. There is a .25 mm gap at the trigger guard so it isn’t made with a perfect 90* where it meets the receiver. Just enough to see light come through.
