Perfectly made

Written on May 02, 2025

Intensely bright even outside, intuitive functionality, great ergonomics and made with sturdy materials, I cannot find a single negative thing to say about this. Comes with pressure switch which I have mounted on my fore grip.

They’re cheap… That’s not a good thing though.

Written on Apr 12, 2025

Magazines are a pretty boring purchase for gun owners. Usually we’re more concerned with their capacity or aesthetics as it’s pretty rare to get a magazine that fails its stated purpose of holding and feeding rounds. These magazines however reminded me that sometimes you get what you pay for.

These failed to load easily or fully, the spring became visibly kinked at a certain random number of rounds preventing any further rounds from being loaded. A few quick smacks on the bottom (well, more than a few) and the kink was corrected and, albeit with an abnormal level of force, I was able to load the magazine to its stated capacity. Fired off a few rounds and then click, the spring was again kinked and caused a failure to feed. Upon removing the magazine the rounds above the kink fell out freely and I had to use a knife to free the remaining rounds.

I tried a few drops of CLP, disassembling and adjusting the spring, using different types and brands of ammo, all failed to get the magazine to function correctly.

I appreciate the clear body (made diagnosing the problem easy at least) but everything else is a complete failure.

Aero, synonymous with perfection

Written on Feb 14, 2025

I was debating on whether I should get a stand alone .300 rifle or an upper for a long while. I’ve had an unused lower for a while and eventually decided on this upper, and I’m glad I did. Initially I had a few failures to feed, but with a little CLP and a couple rounds down range that issue vanished all together. Sleek, lightweight and durable I’m glad I stuck with Aero as I’ve come to recognize their brand as quality.

If you’re on the fence, let this be your sign.

Perfect light, not so great holster.

Sleek design that’s sturdy, useful functions and ergonomic controls for an amazingly bright light. Only defect is the holster it comes with, falls off my duty belt really easily if it gets pulled even slightly.

My new standard

Written on Oct 01, 2023

I’ve been using some pretty generic, much cheaper cases for quite a while now. In general I take pretty good care of my weapons, I do routine cleaning and ensure that rust protection is used for any weapons that I don’t plan on taking to the range anytime soon.

Well, living in a humid environment that can only go so far. I began to notice rust forming and so I decided to look at better storage methods. This particular case has become my standard since. Very sturdy with excellent latches that are exceptionally solid.

The interior has multiple layers of foam padding that can be shaped to the contours of the weapon(s) that go in it. I have my AR and a bolt action .308 in the same case and they are snug as a bug. Being provided those extra foam layers to make proper depth for multiple weapons is a feature I didn’t know I needed.

In short, this is the case you want/need…

Excellent choice for a canted red dot

Written on Sep 28, 2023

I wanted a micro sized red dot to mount canted on my AR and this was a perfect choice. It’s small enough to not be clunky or stick out while still being very visible. Was zeroed easily and maintained the zero through multiple range sessions. Likely to buy another.

Very bright, not very light.

This functions exactly as it says it does. The light and it’s throw are fantastically powerful, but it’s not a small (or light) light. If it was a tad bit smaller and lighter it would be absolutely perfect. Still, very worth it and would absolutely recommend it.

Only issue is the description…

Written on Jun 27, 2023

I might be an outlier but “right handed” didn’t work for me. I assumed “right handed” meant the handle was on the right side, instead it’s on the left. I generally charge AR’s using my dominant hand as the bladed body position makes doing so more natural. Otherwise the construction and aesthetics are all well done, only wish I had noticed that I’m charging my weapon differently than most! I wish the description would directly state which side the handle is on, or better make it modular so you could choose whichever works best for you. So if you charge your weapon using your dominant hand, select the opposite side.

Excellent with minor issues

Written on Jun 13, 2023

I was very skeptical of this grip at first solely due to the price, I was pleasantly surprised to find it's actually very well made. I've always used sleeves on my AR grips to improve the grip's texture and ergonomics, but I found those to be somewhat cumbersome and prone to wear and tear. This grip has perfect texture and ergonomics, and the slide-out part to the bottom provides a compartment for a set of batteries and an optics cleaning cloth with no risk of them falling out. The only downside I noted was the fit wasn't perfect for my lower, requiring a bit of maneuvering to get acceptable placement. Also, the grip's lips extend a bit further than your standard grip and therefore will interfere with oversized safety's. I encountered this issue and remedied it by repeatedly flipping the selector switch to cut away some of the excess lip causing minor cosmetic damage.

Overall a great grip with minor drawbacks.

Recommend with a caveat

Written on Jun 12, 2023

This stock is solid, almost too much so. It functions as you’d expect, but has a few downsides I should have been cognizant of and therefore won’t hold against it. For starters, it’s a beefy boy. It adds a pretty significant amount of weight, and therefore is better suited for the static shooter. Secondly, I would advise against it for those of us who prefer to extend the stock only 0-3 clicks as the cheek rest will interfere with charging an AR at that distance. Due to this and the weight I’ve nixed this stock from my AR, but will probably put it on a rifle that’s bolt action instead.
