I just made my 10/22 one of the COOLEST firearms in my collection
Written on Oct 27, 2026
Let me break this down to explain why I am totally happy with the Samson SAS/22 Ruger 10/22 Takedown Chassis.
1. There was initially an unexpected delay with my order; however, Optics Planet jumped on it and the SAS-22 Chassis was at my doorstep VERY quickly after a short pleasantly handled phone call to OP service dept. Hats off to the helpful service agent who took my call and sped up the order and delivery. In fact, I have always been totally happy whenever I call OP with a question or inquiry about an order
2. The Samson SAS/22 Chassis is a solid, well-made all metal (except the rubberized pad on the adjustable butt and cheek rest). Nothing about the chassis feels or looks cheap. This is the system that a pro shooter would expect for competition equipment and builds a standard, common “blue collar” inexpensive but very reliable 10/22 into a best in class firearm to put on display at the range, where you’ll certainly get the “what the Heck is that”, and also to put up on the wall in front, next to firearms that cost MUCH MUCH more. The chassis breaks down easily like all 10/22 takedowns, and the stock folds neatly so the whole thing fits into a smaller pcc case. The Ruger 10/22 receiver slipped into the folding portion of the Samson SAS 22 Chassis with a snug fit that took about 2 minutes to switch into (from another very cool chassis… my Magpul Takedown Backpacker Chassis)
3. The handguard fit however was VERY tight and required a fairly substantial amount of elbow greas
