I have two of these. Both have worked phenomenally on both a G45 and a Gen 3 G19. Having an understanding of the functions of handguns also helps. Avoid using 115 grain when you have a compensated handgun. Make sure you degrease the screws, and dry before proper insulation with a thread mate. For this particular one do a dry fit and do slide cycles to make sure that the slide locks back to know how far you should thread it on.

Holosun Advanced Enclosed Micro 1x 2 MOA Green Dot – Rugged, Clear, and Versatile
I’ve been running the Holosun Advanced Enclosed Micro 1x 2 MOA Green Dot on my .300 Blackout, and it has proven to be a solid, reliable optic with great durability, crisp reticle clarity, and practical features that make it a strong contender in the enclosed emitter red dot market.
Build Quality & Durability
Right out of the box, this optic feels rugged and well-constructed. The enclosed emitter design protects against debris, water, and environmental elements, making it an excellent option for duty use, training, or defensive applications. The housing is sturdy and has held up well during repeated use, drops, and various weather conditions.
Glass & Reticle Clarity
The green 2 MOA dot is crisp and highly visible, even in bright daylight. The glass is clear, with minimal tint, allowing for an unobstructed sight picture. The brightness adjustments provide plenty of range, from NV-compatible settings to high-intensity daylight settings.
Performance on .300 Blackout – Supers & Subs
I have this optic set up on a .300 Blackout, and it has been a fantastic tool for quick target reference when switching between supersonic and subsonic rounds. Using different reticle settings, I’ve been able to establish clear holds for both ammo types, making transitions quick and intuitive without the need to constantly adjust zero. The ability to adapt the reticle to different ballistic profiles makes this a st

I recently installed the Zaffiri Precision Glock 19 Gen 5 Upper Parts Kit, and while the quality of most components is solid, I encountered a significant issue with the included recoil spring assembly.
Build Quality & Fitment
The extractor, firing pin, and safety plunger are well-machined and fit without any major issues in both factory and aftermarket slides. The springs had proper tension, and overall, the parts looked well-made. However, the recoil spring assembly was the weak point of this kit.
Functionality & Issues
During initial testing, I experienced cycling and function failures, leading to inconsistent performance. After troubleshooting, I determined that the included recoil spring was the culprit. It was not allowing the slide to fully cycle, which caused failure to return to battery issues. I replaced it with a factory OEM Glock recoil spring, and after that, the pistol ran flawlessly.
Instructor’s Perspective
As a firearms instructor, reliability is my top concern. While most of the kit is well-made and functional, the recoil spring issue is a big downside. If I have to replace a critical component right out of the box, it lowers my confidence in the overall package.
Final Thoughts
The Zaffiri Precision Upper Parts Kit is a decent option for a custom Glock 19 Gen 5 build, but be prepared to swap out the recoil spring for a factory OEM part if you run into cycling issues.
Would I recommend it? With caution. If you’re okay with replacing the recoil spring,

Magpul Industries MBUS Pro Offset Deployable Iron Sight – A Reliable Backup Solution
I recently added the Magpul MBUS Pro Offset Deployable Iron Sights to my setup, and they have proven to be a solid and reliable backup sighting option. Whether used as a primary backup for red dot failures or as an alternative aiming solution for CQB to mid-range engagements other than my scope or LVPO, these sights deliver.
Build Quality & Durability
Magpul’s all-steel construction is robust yet low-profile, making these sights highly durable while maintaining a minimalist footprint on the rifle. The Melonite finish adds extra corrosion resistance, ensuring longevity in harsh environments. The detent mechanism is strong, meaning there’s no risk of accidental deployment or collapse.
Ease of Use & Adjustability
The 1:30 offset angle makes transitioning from a primary optic smooth and natural. Adjustments are precise, with the rear sight featuring tool-less windage adjustment and the front sight being easily adjustable for elevation. The sight picture is clear and crisp, offering fast target acquisition without adding unnecessary bulk.
Performance & Practicality
These sights are ideal for AR-15 builds, where maintaining a fast, reliable backup sighting system is necessary. I’ve run them in high-stress drills and low-light conditions, and they remain intuitive and repeatable.
Instructor’s Perspective
As a civilian and law enforcement firearms instructor, I emphasize the importance of ha

Safariland 568BL Paddle Attachment w/ QLS Molle Receiver Plate – Secure & Versatile Setup
I recently added the Safariland 568BL Paddle Attachment in FDE Brown to my setup, paired with the QLS Molle Receiver Plate, and it has proven to be a solid and functional upgrade.
Fit & Comfort
The 568BL paddle design allows for a secure and stable fit while being comfortable for all-day carry. It stays in place well on the belt, providing a balanced and accessible draw. The FDE color matches well with my other gear, offering both function and aesthetics.
Versatility with QLS System
The addition of the QLS Molle Receiver Plate takes modularity to the next level. Quick-locking and easy swapping between different holster setups make this an ideal choice for those running multiple configurations. Whether moving between belt-mounted and MOLLE setups, the QLS system ensures fast transitions while maintaining a secure lock-up.
Performance & Durability
As expected from Safariland, the build quality is excellent. The paddle attachment holds firmly in place, even with aggressive movement and repeated draws. The QLS system performs flawlessly, making holster changes quick, reliable, and repeatable under different conditions.
Instructor’s Perspective
As a civilian and law enforcement firearms instructor, having holster options makes a world of difference. The modularity of the QLS system allows me to adapt to different training environments and carrying needs effortlessly. Whether working

I recently installed the Bootleg Inc. AR-15 Four-Position Adjustable Carrier and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. The adjustable gas settings are a game-changer, allowing me to fine-tune the rifle’s operation depending on the setup—whether suppressed or unsuppressed.
Installation & Fit
The carrier dropped in smoothly, and the machining quality is top-notch. The finish is durable and well-executed, showing attention to detail in the design. The adjustment mechanism is easy to use, even while installed, making tuning a breeze.
Performance
In testing with both suppressed and unsuppressed configurations, the four-position gas adjustment proved incredibly useful. I noticed a significant reduction in gas blowback when running suppressed, leading to a much cleaner and smoother shooting experience. The different settings also help in balancing recoil and bolt velocity, which can extend the life of internal components.
Durability
So far, the carrier has held up well under repeated use, with no signs of excessive wear. It runs cleaner compared to traditional gas systems, thanks to the ability to regulate excess gas. This is especially beneficial for those who frequently run suppressors.
Final Thoughts
For anyone running a suppressed AR-15 or wanting better control over their gas system, the Bootleg Inc. Adjustable Carrier is a worthy investment. It offers better tuning, reduced recoil impulse, and less fouling, making it a practical upgrade over a standard b

I have two of the JP Enterprise Gen 2 Silent Captured Buffer Systems and was impressed by the quality right out of the box. The installation process was straightforward, and I used a quarter for spacing as recommended by JP Enterprises (at the bottom of the buffer tube). The system operates very smoothly, eliminating the ‘twangy’ sound of a standard AR-15 buffer spring, and it’s noticeably quieter. I’ve had great luck with it on both my 10.5” and 18” barrels, using tungsten weights on the short barrel and the standard JP Silent Capture on the long barrel. You truly get what you pay for with JP Enterprises. This is a great product!”
