So after I purchased this product Armaspec came out with the next generation and apparently fixed all the issues with this product which doesn’t help the people that purchased the original… The Allen screw that you have to tighten against another Allen screw to assemble the thing constantly comes loose and when it comes undone you have to disassemble the buffer tube... The other issue is the O-ring that cushions the bolt carrier gets destroyed within firing a few rounds and becomes debris in the action…

Purchase this from Primary Arms however I’m writing a review on Optics Planet because these selectors are dangerous. The safety selector does not put the gun on safe, the mill spec safety selector works fine, my radian arms safety selector also works fine, the Odin safety selector you are still able to fire the weapon when the selector is on safe. I contacted Odin works about this and here was their reply…
“The AMS is designed around mil-spec triggers, some drop-in trigger systems may not be compatible. In most cases, the trigger height needs to be adjusted and then they will work fine with both 45 and 90-degree throughs. With that said, some triggers are not 45 degrees compatible. I'd recommend checking with the trigger manufacture to see what they say. Stay safe out there and if you have any other questions feel free to send them on over.”
So basically not our fault, not our problem… there is no disclaimer that mentions anything the guy said in the reply email on optics planet, on primary arms or on the Odin Works website. I would recommend buying something else.

Like I said I love the grip in theory however the rubber on the backstrap is starting to come apart and I’ve only taken the rifle to be fired twice since I purchased the grip… it’s just not durable, If ATI redesign the backstrap to be it be a more durable material it would be five star is all the way.

I’ve had to strike industries muzzle devices and both of them have had messed up threads… what I mean by messed up is at the very beginning of the threads they are deformed and really rough. You can feel the roughness when you go to screw the comp on and I’m just not willing to potentially mess up my barrels threads to get either of the comps on.

I purchased a lot of Aero products and the quality of this buffer tube isn’t what I’ve come to expect from the company. First if you look closely at the machining you see imperfections all over the tube. Second and this is the biggest one my fab defense stocks adjustment spring loaded detent isn’t able to seed all the way down properly in the tubes guide holes. My fab defense stocks adjustment button is loose and floppy because of this, i’ve tried it on several other tubes I own and I don’t have that problem. Last thing there is a problem is when I tried to screw the tube into the lower receiver, I couldn’t get that last revolution to make the buffer detent seed all the way back between the enhanced tubes notches. When I did twist the tube so the detent was at the absolute back of the anti-rotation notch my upper receiver wouldn’t close... none of these problems happened on the dark defense buffer tube though that tube did have its own problems, mainly the anodizing being shiny and rattle because of the circumference of the tube. So basically either this tube is completely mill spec and all my other parts are not or this tube is not mil-spec...

For the price it’s hard not to recommend it, it does what it claims it reduces recoil and muzzle rise. The only drawback I can see is the flash hiding aspect probably doesn’t do much although that’s pretty well-known with these hybrid muzzle devices. For the price I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The thing works though I have worries about the set screw holding up but that not why I have it 2 stars. The issue I had was discoloration with the endplate. I contacted Strike Industries about the issue and they said they saw that before and acted like I did the discoloration...I exchanged to endplate and the replacement had the same discoloration...

I love this grip! When I purchase products I’m highly critical of them and when I say I love the grip I absolutely love this grip. The grip fills out my hand and was exactly what I was looking for to counter the thin AR15 grips. Two issues, first as others have said it is a large grip that pushes your hand to the rear of the weapon and people with small hands are not going to be able to reach the safety selector. I have above average size hands and my thumb barely touches the safety selector and I have to adjust my grip to actually engage the safety. The second issue is the soft rubber on the back of the grip that touches your palm. The rubber is so soft and I’m wondering if it’s going to hold up over time? If the company that makes this is reading this I have three suggestions. First sell an extended safety selector option with this product, but don’t change the shape of your product because it really is the most comfortable AR grip I’ve ever used. Second make the rubber on the piece the touches your palm a little more durable. Third I would really like to see a variant of this grip with finger grooves. You could also sell different sizes of the back piece that slides on the grip with the soft rubber so It can fit more hand sizes.

This charging handle is adequate and does what it’s supposed to however it has sharp edges and when you try to charge it with one hand during a tactical reload it digs into your palm. If they just designed it with round or edges it would’ve been a lot better.

I purchased this buffer tube being very skeptical about the quality, it being at the time I purchased at $33. I was pleasantly surprised at the construction of the buffer tube however the other reviewer is right my fab defense stock also has a lot of wiggle. I ended up having to stick electrical tape on the inserts to shore it up and there’s still a lot of play. In the picture it look like the buffer tubes is almost grey, it’s not it’s definitely a black, the black is actually darker black than the Anderson lower I have on my rifle. The buffer tube is also shinier than I’d like it to be, I would’ve preferred more of a flat black to one match the rest of the rifle and two because shiny things just look cheap. Not that it’s overly shiny it’s just shinier than any other part of the rifle.
