The Chicken Master from United States, CA Public Profile
Stats look good on paper, 34mm FFP illuminated for under $800. Unfortunately when it arrived, it was really blurry with the eyepiece near the -0- mark. I had to screw the eyepiece pretty far in to get a clear view through the scope. Now I understand that it's adjustable, but that's to adjust for minor variations in your eyesight off of perfect 20/20, or if you want to remove your glasses you can adjust the eyepiece to compensate. This was more off of normal -0- than that. I couldn't get a decent view through it at either 1x or 8x, it looked odd and "bubbly" if that makes any sense. Kind of a get what you pay for proposition. I really wanted to like this scope but ended up sending it back.
Very bright lots of light gathering. Not much distortion at 1x, you can leave both eyes open as long as you keep your right eye centered in the eyepiece. Love the reticle pattern when not illuminated. Only problem is bleed through when illuminated. I got the green mil reticle with 5,10,15,20 numbers vertically. Parts of those numbers reflect the illumination at anything but very low levels of illumination. Trijicon's FAQ mentions some bleed over, but I didn't expect it to be this obvious. It's still useable, but come on for $1500 I'd rather not have to look at this every time I turn up the illumination. Just noticed somebody else saw the same problem, so apparently it's not just the one I received. That's kind of a drag. Other than that it's great. Frankly I'd rather have the same scope with fiber optic and tritium than a battery, but they don't make a 1-8x28 like that. Overall, if you don't mind some obvious bleed into parts of the reticle that shouldn't be lit, go for it.
Awesome mount. Easy to put on and take off. Rock solid when attached. Another reviewer stated it seemed loose, but keep this in mind...as it comes out of the box, the lower half of the rings are attached loosely to the mount, and the upper half of the rings are attached loosely to the lower half of the rings. So if you snap it onto a rail (right out of the box) and wiggle the rings, yeah the rings wiggle but that's just the rings not being screwed into the mount all the way. They assume you're going to put a scope in it, tighten the rings onto the mount, and tighten the upper ring halves to the lower ring halves, which you are. Bottom line this is a great mount.

Heavy, hopefully that indicates build quality. Bought it for the legendary ranging cam mechanism. After a few minutes of head scratching I finally understood how it works, it's pretty simple really. Probably easier if you don't read the manual first, and just spin the cam a few times while watching how that affects the mount. Then read the manual to fill in the details. That said, it's not going to be as fast to use as a ranging reticle dedicated to one caliber in which you just use hold over for range. However you can use this with different calibers and different rifles from .22 to .50. You can either slave the range to the zoom setting, or decouple them.
