The Girlfriend loves it.

Written on Apr 10, 2025

Works great for a muzzle brake. It has a bit of an interesting design with the lock nut instead of a crush washer. Unsure if I like that or not. The threads needed fixing unfortunately. It would not thread on to my barrel out of the box. I doublechecked that I had the correct threads for the barrel and device. The device threads were rolled over at the start. Cleaned up the threads and used a little bit of aeroshell grease and I got it on and torqued.
I quite enjoy the aesthetic as well. If you weren't paying close attention, you wouldn't notice the heart shaped cuts, making it look like a nice beefy brake and it does it's job well. My Girlfriend absolutely loves the hearts on it.
Assuming the threads was just a slip in production, would definitely recommend.

Love this thing!

I love this tool! It's made removing and installing buffer tubes so easy. I couldn't keep a tube from twisting when I tried to torque it down so I hit the forums and found this tool. I've done several removals and installs with it so far and it makes installing tubes with repeat ease and quality of work a dream.

Way out of spec

Written on Mar 25, 2025

I bought this tube expecting it to be milspec as the name suggests. The 6 position holes were poorly drilled and the tube wasnt concentric. It was thicker on the bottom which was letting the buffer sit higher and slip over the retainer. This could just have been a fluke in the production chain, but milspec is literally the bare minimum so it's pretty disappointing when it falls short.

Perfect for your sci-fi inspired build.

Getting the obvious out of the way, yes this stock is a little silly looking. That's why I like it though. For me, this is 100% an aesthetic purchase. While it does leave some to be desired for practicality, it actually doesn't feel bad to shoulder and the grip is fairly comfortable. This stock and the separately purchased foregrip together give a very sci-fi image which you'll either love or hate. Halo, Mass Effect, and Helldivers 2 all come to mind when looking at this stock on a build. I'm planning on finishing this build and painting it in a Helldivers theme.

There are some complaints. This stock does not include a grip screw for some reason, so you'll have to acquire one separately. As well, the buffer tube screw and where it goes through the stock could use a little beefing up. If you're not careful, you could easily over torque the screw and it'll break right through the plastic. HERA also does not provide any kind of torque specs for your screws when assembling and mounting this stock.

Overall, it does function and it gives a unique look to your build.

Very cool novelty!

This trigger is firstly a novelty, but it is very fun. If you just want some fast fun at a lower cost per bullet, you can definitely tune an AR9 and mag dump some 9mm. Be sure to call your preferred gun range first to make sure you're allowed to shoot with this trigger first. Many indoor ranges aren't a fan of the high rate of fire because they don't want customers shooting the ceiling. My preferred range wants you to do a qualification course to show you know how to handle the firearm before they'll let you shoot.

QC slipped through the cracks

Written on Aug 16, 2024

The red dot itself seems very nice. The glass is clean and the dot is visible. Unfortunately, the mounting hardware provided with the red dot fell short. The provided screws to attach the red dot to the mounting plate were too short to engage the threads. Usually, I don't have any issues at all with Vortex, so this is likely just a slip up and not a huge deal.

Save your LRBHO!

Written on Mar 14, 2024

A simple but very effective product. I bought two of these for my AR9's. It stops the bolt travel just behind the bolt catch. If you have a last round bolt hold open (LRBHO), it'll stop the bolt just behind the catch so it doesn't have enough room to hit the catch and break it. I put a couple hundred rounds through the gun with the spacer installed and it didn't hinder performance at all.
