18" Ultramatch MOD2 .223 Wylde Barrel Missing TiN Coating

The 18" polished stainless barrel I received was missing the "trademark" TiN coating on the barrel extension. Of all of the quality-control things to miss, this would be among the MOST OBVIOUS. I have this same polished stainless barrel in the 16" length from a few years ago and it came about as perfect as it gets. This one seriously makes me question the current levels of quality control on these barrels, as there was literally ZERO way to miss this, if anyone AT ALL was performing a final quality inspection. Now I have to sent it back and wait MONTHS for a replacement.
Plastic Zippers Broke on Both Cases I've Owned

Kryptek AR Profile 42in Single Rifle Case
I've owned two of this same case. On both of them the zippers are made of SOFT PLASTIC and broke off the very first time I opened the side pockets, brand-new fresh out of bag. They were purchased about 4 years apart and both had the same, cheapest of cheap plastic zippers. The zippers on both cases also won't engage/clasp-together the teeth anymore. It's a shame because these cases are amazing.... but their zippers are JUNK!

Wobbly Fit

I bought this, as it was cheaper than the Kinetic Development Group Kinect MLOK. Big mistake.
The Sylvan version does not attach in the same manner as the Kinect - the little arms on the Kinect spin and lock tightly, whereas the little arms on the Sylvan just simply slide in and out.
The fit of the Sylvan is wobbly, whereas the fit of the more expensive Kinect is rock-solid.
I am returning this and spending the extra money to buy a second one from Kinetic, which is what I should have done in the first place, as the Kinetic has already proven itself as solid across multiple handguards.

A Little Pricy, But Excellent

As the title suggests, these AD Recon mounts are a little on the pricier side for those of us used to purchasing mounts from other manufacturers like Atibal, Aero, and Primary Arms (which are all excellent, by the way). What I like about these Recon mounts, in particular, is that the rings can be swapped out with different rings of different scope diameters. I also like how secure the QD latches feel. They are a little harder to get a scope into, due to the way that they are split vertically (instead of horizontally), but it's really not hard at all. I've already purchased two of these Recon mounts and will likely purchase more in the future.

M4E1 Upper Receivers Continue to Amaze Me

I've recently purchased three of the M4E1 Aero uppers, two in Sniper Grey and one in black, and in all cases the fit and finish has been excellent. One thing I've noticed is that the cerakoted M4E1 uppers fit tight (and I mean TIGHT) with cerakoted Aero lowers, to the point that I haven't even needed to use the tensioning screws on the bottom... I just leave them bottomed all the way out.... and I've really had to "work/wear-in" the pivot and takedown pins. Also the barrel extension portions fit most barrels TIGHT, as well. I mean to the point that you might find yourself needing to thermal fit your barrels the same way you'd thermal fit a BCM, or JP receiver/barrel combo. I will continue to purchase these excellent uppers in the future, as I've found the quality exceptional for the price.

Watchtower Firearms P7M Hyper Lite Handguard
I have to say this is a very nice handguard. I needed something that would clear a 0.875" gas block, since my Aero Atlas R-One's internal diameter would not fit such a gas block. Despite appearing much larger than the Atlas R-One, physically, when I placed the P7M Handguard and it's barrel nut onto a digital scale it weighed 310 grams (10.95 oz), which was actually LIGHTER by a few grams than the R-One it was replacing! The R-One had weighed in at 326 grams, including its barrel nut. This is excellent, as the P7M is going over a match-grade carbon fiber barrel and helps to keep the weight down. It also looks amazing after having had it cerakoted in Sniper Grey to match my receiver set.
An Excellent Grip for the AR-15

Prior to trying out the FAB AGR43 grips I was strictly a Hogue Overmolded Grip kind of guy. The FAB grip's rubber is not as soft/supple as on the Hogue, but it remains quite grippy, due to the combination of grip knobs and biting edges. I like that FAB grips use a hinged door at the bottom for storage space. With the Hogue grip you need to purchase a separate "caddy" which costs nearly as much as the Hogue grip, itself, and which I find much more difficult to open and close than as is the case with the FAB's bottom hinged storage door. Also, to me it feels like the FAB is slightly narrower around the thumb area than the Hogue grips, which means it feels as if my hand gets in a little closer and tighter toward the trigger. I now own 3-4 of these and will probably buy more in the future.
Only a single trauma pad was received, despite being advertised as a set

Just like the other reviewer, after waiting over 3 months for this item to ship I only received one trauma pad, not a set as Optics Planet advertises! So now I must either pay double what I was supposed to pay to get one additional plate (and wait another 3 months?), or return the single trauma pad I waited three months to receive.

Oakley Straight Jacket Lenses
The wrap of these Oakley Straight Jacket lenses and frames makes them fantastic for all-around viewing. Their size and shape offers more available peripheral vision compared to some of the other Oakley frames I own (such as the Fives Squared). The Black Iridium coating reduces light greatly and the Polarized coating reduces a lot of glare coming off of such things as passing cars while driving and viewing things near, or in the water. A must have lens if you have Straight Jacket frames.
