Midwest has been a quality manufacturer for a long time. Glad to see they filled this niche. If you are tall or long armed and running an SBR or pistol, this might help you out. I am running the 12" handguard over a 10" barrel with a Sico Harvester (best not to run a handguard longer than a barrel without a can). Handguard has a good feel, good fit and the can rebates easily. As always, Optics Planet filled and shipped the order quick. This is a solid choice for this use case.

Its expensive, probably because weaver would be a smaller run than most. The fit and finish are perfect, everything mated up without a hitch. Only complaint is that its costly but then again, if you're buying a Trijicon, sticker price probably doesn't mean a whole lot to you.

For a couple years now I have come to believe that Vortex meant value. They may not make the very best on the market but you're going to get a high quality, high value piece that won't break the bank. I use everything from the Razor HD 2 down to a crossfire and I've been happy with the quality for what I paid...until this product. Its all polymer and the finish is passable at best. Lots of rough edges. Locks on the rail with that little cut out you see in the picture and the fit, again, is passable. The fit isn't really very tight but since it is all polymer, it doesn't make any noise or anything. I'm not sure how water proof its going to be, the washer is a very hard, flat rubber, it doesn't seem to compress much at all, I will probably replace it with a Viton O-ring out of my harbor freight set in hope of keeping the battery fresh. The little cable you see on it to keep you from losing the lid is again, kinda disappointing. Its nice its there so you don't lose the lid, but, it just has a loop on the end you can't see in the picture. The picture on the packaging after you receive the product shows you looping it through a harris style bipod. You could loop it through holes in your rail or something too if you're using this on and AR style rifle. Personally, I would much rather see the little cable attach back to a little post on the base so you don't have to weave parts of your rifle together. Now, after all that, I suppose I might recommend this to someone bu

I run an ACOG on my main AR and wanted something similar for a truck/pig gun without the ACOG price tag. Love the red/green feature, this is to say I like green and never use the red honestly. This fit the bill. Mounting seems very solid so far, adjustments are crisp and hold tight. No tritium means no half life and x3 is plenty good for running and gunning at night. You wont be disappointed.

If you wanted to spend 100$ for a Harris and another 20 for a rail adapter, you'd get an overall better product. That said, for the money, this pod performs the way it should. Note, legs spring load in and not out like other pods do. For the money, you should be satisfied with this is.
