The knife arrived in good condition, with the blade wrapped in waxed paper. There was a tiny bit of surface rust (the wipe off with a cloth type) on the top of the tang where it goes into the front bolster. It was not an issue, but I thought I should mention it. The knife is attractive, and the Damascus steel is in a very nice pattern. The front bolster is also heavy Damascus, and is more of a front piece to the knife handle. The handle is good looking with a rich and deep tint to it. I have no idea if it is actually camel bone or some kind of faux. Mine has a tiny spot on the handle where the grind marks were not fully buffed, but it is hardly noticeable and doesn't bother me at all. The sheath is of medium quality but I would mention that when the retaining strap is closed the knife will still easily extract from the sheath. There is no way to tighten the strap. The rivets and center handle medallion are attractive, and the lanyard rivet is solid brass. The knife is fairly heavy (in a good way), and has a nice balance. Overall, I was pleased with the knife and felt is was a good deal at the price.

I wasn't prepared for how big this spear actually was. I did read that the point was 18 inches, but the overall length of the spear wasn't mentioned. It came in two packages - one for the point and one for the shaft. The shaft is about 6 feet long and 1.5 inches in diameter. The blade width is 3.5 inches. It's hardly a throwing spear. It is well-made and substantially built. The point is already quite sharp. If you're planning on using it for display, as I am, be aware you need a long space. If you're thinking of hunting, just be aware it's more of a jabbing/thrusting spear than a throwing one. There are 11.5 inches forward of the two stops. I hung mine horizontally over two sliding glass doors.
