The earlier vortex 45 degree offset mounts were a disappointment, so vortex went back to the drawing board and re designed it.This is a quality, robust mount, and it is very affordable. This mount is a bargain! On par with other mounts from another company that I paid almost twice as much for! I’m very happy with it.

This scope was an upgrade from a Crossfire II, which was a good scope but the Razor HD Gen II with CJM BDC reticle is awesome. The glass is very clear, and everything works extremely well. The red dot on the Razor is BRIGHT! I actually have to turn it down some, even in the bright Arizona sun. It works just like any good quality, expensive red dot. Great for the up close stuff. Then when you're shooting longer distances, switch it off and use the CJM BDC reticle. So far I've only shot it out to about 300 yards. I'm sure its capable of much more than that. The magnification ring is very stiff, and takes some effort to move. On the plus side, it won't move around on its own while you are shooting. I put a switch view throw lever on it, problem solved. I also bought some lense covers for the scope, because it didn't come with anything that you could use in the field. I was surprised by this, but a decent set of lense covers were affordable and easy to get. If you are looking for a great scope for your AR platform, I recommend you give this one a serious look.
