i have not shot it yet so this an initial review. i got the gun assembled and first impression is i like it enough to keep as i sold my previous magpul x22 hunter to get this folder. my dislikes start at the front with 3,6,9 pic rails which are quite bulky and not needed on a 1022 but i guess they made it for the IDF. i took the 3 and 9 off but the nuts behind came loose, so do it before you put the action in or you will have to take it all back apart. the 6 is permanent. i wish it was all just mlok slots for a cleaner look and thus more versatile. the pistol grip has storage but is hard to open wo a tool of some sort or a really strong fingernail. it does have qd cups unlike the mp but they are located in the back and no way to put one up front wo buying a utg pic rail qd adapter. the adjustable stock is very long and starts at 13 inches collapsed. position 1 is 13.5. and goes to 16. i would prefer if it was 12-15" to make it more youth friendly, as i will never go past 13.5" or 14" lop. other than these minor flaws and not being able to take traditional slings(no studs) it seems pretty solid but not as solid or heavy as the x22. i have not compared the weights but i assume the x22 is heavier bc you will have to buy sling mounts (cups or studs) for it as mp does not provide anything except a sling loop and spacers for lop.

the x22 bp works as intended turning your 1022 into a 1 pce unit in takedown mode for easy transport in a say a backpack and the extra storage is a bonus, but it eliminates the barrel band on the fore end. this pce is designed to fit both the bull and standard barrel. the thinner barrel leaves a gap on each side with a little round plug on the bottom to support it. mp just needs to make a bigger u shaped adapter to cradle the barrel and fill in these gaps to mimick the barrel band. the fore end screws into this metal block with a second screw same as the action which houses the td lever and two smaller screws which go into the barrel. mine were loose and they dont automatically line up straight when tight. so they could come loose or you could knock your barrel off center inside the fore end bc of the gaps. i used loctite also. maybe not a problem with the bull barrel but i think this is an oversight by magpul and why ruger has the barrel band there. if you dont have a 1022 already consider getting a regular model/non td, and then a folding stock or deserttech bullpup which is twice the price of mp. if i had to do it over i would prob get the charger model w a folding stock for a backpack gun which could be deployed alot faster.

just be aware this is the 1st gen, still full price. there is a 2nd gen coming out 2024, same model number, price tbd. the new one will have two real screws for the mount and a new hpl cap w higher candela(longer throw) which op does not list. u should be able buy this separate for 70 bucks at some point and put it on 1st gens. the only thing i would prefer(besides the new cap) is a low power, say 150-200 lumen mode on the second press. the rubber plug will not stay on.

this is a youth stock, sort of. trigger reach from grip is still long and same as factory so you need big hands. good stock though. better grip and R pad than mossberg. id go w 13.5 hogue bc its cheaper and it looks original and feels better. mossberg should use it instead of their 14.25 but only 3/4in shorter so if u want perfect adjustment buy a magpul, the ultimate w 5 diff lops and more vertical grip.

I have not really used it yet but just wanted to post first initial impression since there are no reviews. it is a duplex reticle as stated and does not have a bdc reticle pictured and stated also on the box. i bought it instead of the simmons 2-7x32 rimfire pro target. a little cheaper here at 75 than simmons and maybe better glass? all made in china anyway but this one is suppose to sell for 199. it weighs a couple ounces more than the simmons but less than the vortex and CT similar scopes which sell for 130 and 155. the ct has spring loaded turrets i think. this has the same crappy turrets as the simmons held down by three tiny screws i was hoping to avoid. ok once zeroed i guess, but a pain none the less as they can easily be stripped or lost. the simmons does have a red anodized color strip and 3 turrets but questionable high power clarity. not familar w this brand but i already have a couple of simmons and didnt want to spend alot. this seems like a good compromise, no distortion at 7, and comes w a good rubber lens cover. i also have a nikon prostaff in same size w spring turrets on a diff rifle. pretty solid overall, well see how it performs on my 10/22.

I have not shot these yet but wanted to state they are not brass. they are high steel, thus wondering if they are actually 1200 fps which would make them low velocity. one reviewer states they do not seem low velocity compared to s&b which are also 1200fps, so would be nice if he or someone could chrono. they also capped which makes them longer than crimped. inexpensive shells i know but since OP says no returns for any reason i think the advertising should be correct.
