300Blk 110gr CX
Written on Sep 10, 2024
First time using copper bullets out of my 300Blk. Looks good at the range 2250fps with 1.25" groups. Would've preferred they were a bit heavier at 115~120 but I understand they don't need to be like lead core. We shall see.

Must have tool!

Review for
Midwest Industries Upper Receiver Rod
A 'must have' premium tool for the gunsmith and serious DIYer.
Expensive? Yes. Buy once, cry once. But such a premium tool will always be in demand and can be easily resold.

Great tool!

"The right tool for the job" - build with confidence knowing that parts are properly aligned and supported. Yes, for the occasional build or maintenance, it's expensive even with discounts. But it's an essential tool to do the job right. I got tired of doing without and finally bit the bullet and got one. Glad I did.

Nice Range Case

Review for
Vism Double Carbine Soft Gun Case, 42-55in
Nice case for transporting my ARs to the range. My first choice wouldn't have been 'Green' but that color was the only one that was clearance priced. Overall, I'm very happy with all of my VISM cases for rifle, shotgun, and pistol.

Yankee Hill Machine Phantom 7.62 Smooth Compensator/Flash Hider 5/8-24 Threads YHM-3080-5C1
I have YH Phantom Extended Flash Hiders on all my ARs. They are arguably the best Flash Hider design available. In the tests I've seen, their flash mitigation is on par with some of the best 3-prong flash hiders. At the range, in side-by-side testing, the extended ports do seem to help with muzzle rise a little better than the standard A2 flash hider.

Perfect Match
Written on May 29, 2024
Perfect match for all my AR slings. I use BCM QD swivels on all my ARs. The smaller D-Ring helps minimize the space occupied by the swivel and sling. Only minor issue is that sling adjustments aren't quite as smooth as with the BCM QD Oval-Ring swivel but the difference is very minor and depends upon the kind of sling setup and sling material used.

Just what I needed!

Review for
Strike Industries Link Angled QD Mount
The Strike Industries Angled QD Mount is exactly what I needed for my AR slings. I like the forward mount about midway, just behind my hand grip. But, with 90deg mounts, the QD swivel and sling protruded too much and interfered with my grip. The angle of the SI mount tilts the QD swivel and sling out of the way very nicely. I now have these SI Angled QD Mounts on all my ARs.

Caught these on sale for $1 when I bought a new Yankee Hill Extended Flash Hider for my 300Blk. Always nice to have spares on hand so I bought a few.

Review for
Magpul Industries M-LOK Hand Stop Kit
Angled foregrips and Hand stops can be so subjective. After trying several, I've found the Magpul Hand Stop Kit is just right for my hand. I now have them installed on all of my AR Pistols.

Review for
Strike Industries CZ P-10 F Magwell
A nice $14 addition to my CZ P-10F OR SR that works very well.
The only issue I found was the gap tolerance between the magwell and the OEM CZ 21rd mag baseplates was too tight to allow an easy mag insertion without some force. Thankfully, the polymer baseplates are easily removed and a light sanding to remove less than 1/16" from the top of the baseplate was all that was needed. Took only about 25 strokes with 80grit followed by 25 strokes with 400grit sandpaper to smooth out the 80grit scratches. Now the mags snap it just as easily as without the magwell.
The only other issue is the head of the screw to secure the magwell would look better with a countersunk flat head than a round head. I may replace it later purely for aesthetics.
