Great case, with one nagging flaw

Written on Sep 15, 2021

Bought the case for my Ravin R20. It is a very rugged case that will provide good protection for the bow with its six latches. It has cutouts for extra bolts, the crank, and the quiver. The bow itself fits perfectly inside the case like a glove and the slots can hold 12 extra bolts (arrows). HOWEVER, one huge flaw is that cutout for the quiver is way too large and as soon as you try to shut the lid, the quiver will come out of its nest. I contacted SKB, and they said they have received complaints about it, but their only fix was to send me velcro strips with adhesive on them. There is no way that any type of adhesive will stay on the foam for any length of time before it is inadvertently ripped off. The representative did state that hopefully it will be fixed as the model is updated, but that does me no good now since I spent more on a case than some people spend on their crossbow. The representative did suggest using Gorilla Tape or something similar on the walls of the cutout to make the cutout smaller.

Bottom Line: It will provide good protection for the crossbow, extra bolts, and crank. The jury is still out on the quiver though. It's just hard to see how such a design flaw can pass through Quality Assurance, get mass-produced, and sold to the public.
