At the price point I picked up two boxes of this just to see how it shot. I have tested it in two of my four 308 rifles. A Springfield M1A Scout shot it in about 4-in groups and AR 308 with an 18 inch barrel managed about 1.75 in both at 100 yd. The Springfield with other ammo is capable of one and a half inch groups and the AR I have multiple loads that shoot submoa pretty easily.
I will eventually try it on my other two rifles you never know each gun does like things a little bit differently. As long as it stays below $25 a box I would say it's a buy for plinking ammo and maybe you'll get lucky and have it be a great match for your Barrel.
I have always associated with inexpensive red dot sights and laser sights.
I had recently decided to remove a Sightmark night vision scope from an AR308 and replace it with a traditional optic however my budget was limited since I was paying for it with what I made off of the nv scope.
Initial impression was as good as the old Nikon P series nothing fancy as far as the turrets and clearly marked and they have that spring-loaded reset so nothing really earth-shattering there. However the inclusion of the sun shade was a nice touch. But then I looked through it and even though my eyes are not what they used to be you are paying for good glass at this price point. I have several Vortex striking holes which I like and several Burris scopes as well. It was very easy to zero and has held zero just fine.
Ultimately there are many better acopes than this however most of them cost hundreds of dollars more. Call this competitive with comparably priced Athlon or Arken scopes, but I feel the glasses better and it is also not made in China.
Looks great in the package the finishes uniform and appears to be of good quality you can see very fine Machining marks but at this price point it's acceptable. The opening for the gas tube is aluminum spec however and it was also full of crud. The gas tube hole is in spec at the opening. About an eighth of an inch in though the gas tube which is slightly smaller than spec gets stuck.
I purchased this handguard to go with a package that included the Odin Works Barrel the other works bolt carrier group and the item Works adjustable gas block. Installation was a breeze. I followed the instructions I didn't really have any real issues with not getting correct alignment I saw that the alignment pin allowed a little bit of play so I made sure to brace alignment collar before tightening the barrel nut. The problems started when I went to shoot the rifle and I could not manage better than two and a half inch groups. I corresponded with Odin works and their support was excellent and they were ready to warranty the barrel. But on a hunch with the two-piece barrel nut system I took it all back apart and it did not appear to me that the barrel nut was making contact with the barrel. If it was it was very minimal. So I put a couple of shims in between the barrel and the barrel nut tightened it back up and immediately started shooting sub MOA groups. I don't know if it was a quality control issue with a coating on the barrel nut or if the threading just did not allow it to tighten up enough but I brought it to Odin Works attention and they reported that they would pass it on to their engineering team. It is a great lightweight very good looking handguard it's not meant to be a super heavy indestructible unit it's a lightweight versatile piece
I bought this looking for the NON PH version. I have inky setup anf zeroed at 100 yards on a Midwest 20 moa mount. The instructions are clear and zero, resetting stops, then setting the software was all a lot simpler than In expected.
I have Vortex, Nikon and other Burris scopes and this one is better on all levels. Clear at all magnifications.
I wish I knew better about how to rate a scope. This is the best scope I own and wil likely own for a long time.
I bought the 308 version and today I went out to use it for my first day there was a misfeed and a cartridge slightly jammed in the chamber and I had to bump the charging handle to get the cartridge unstuck.
Unfortunately it bent in multiple places. At that point I had to get a hammer and block of wood to get it out and put the original charging handle back in. I don't think that 6061 aluminum as they have on this charging handle is strong enough.
I received this recently after falling prey to the great price offered. I figured at the price point I can't be hurt and I had low expectations as well. If it was as accurate as my NPAP I would have been happy.
Upon arrival I was surprised by the size of the box it came in, then opened it and it was packed in a second box that was heavily lined with foam. A+ on that. Initial inspection showed no obvious flaws. Even though I have owned dozens of AR platform firearms and built most of them I am by no means an expert on the platform, but nothing looked bad, and everything seemed to work with cycling by hand and dry firing.
I waited until I had a YHM QD suppressor mount before testing. Once the mount arrived, I was able to check suppressor alignment and it looked perfect. I had a few ASC 10 round mags and a box of Winchester White Box 7.62x39 FMJ and hit the range today. I put a 1-4x Athlon BTR scope on it as I was planning on using this inside of 150 yards for hog hunting. At the range I am a member at they were unable to boresight for me as they did not have the right fitting. So, I started at 7 yards and walked it out to 50 yards. The scope was easy to zero and I was stunned by the accuracy given the ammo and the barrel is not broken in at all. First 2 shots were touching at 10 yards. at 25 yards the next 2 shots were in the same hole. At 50 yards I had a solid 1-inch group. My Npap with steel ammo was good for 5-6 inch groups at 100 yards so this was a pleasan
