Worst Garbage and Even Worse Service
Written on May 15, 2023
After putting around 600 rounds through my Sig P226 Legion with the Lasermax LS-226G, the take down lever switch failed.
A small piece of epoxy which forms the switch fell out.
I called Lasermax, informed them of the problem and received an RMA.
About 4 weeks later I got back the unit but from the check out sheet completed by their technician, he NEVER tested it.
Today, one week after getting it back, I went to the range.
I put an additional 150 rounds through the gun.
Dare I tell you, the epoxy has fallen out for a second time.
This is not a device anyone in their right mind would depend on.
SHAME ON LASERMAX AND THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT

I've put about 600 rounds trough my Sig Sauer P226 since I purchased the Lasermax LMS-226G from Optics Planet. My beef is not with Optics Planet but with the manufacturer. In my opinion, how dare they market a life aiding tool that is built around DUMB engineering and components. This "tool" is in no way even close to meeting military specifications.
The plastic battery cap is thin and cheesy. It wears extremely fast as it rides on the barrel of the gun and is shoved every time the weapon is fired. In addition, it houses a minute spring and contact pin that fall out easily while changing the batteries. They can go flying across the room only to never be found again. NEVER try to change your batteries inn the field!
The new take down lever supplied by Lasermax is another poorly designed and/or implemented concept.
This take down lever is the switch to turn the Lasermax on or off. It relies on a tiny dot of epoxy to act as an insulator to open the circuit and turn the laser off. In my opinion, a dumb and poorly implemented switch.
As for the comments made by others that there is no way to ZERO the laser to the gun, there is, just not one the end user can use. It requires special tools. the adjustments controls are iinfinitesimally small. to add to that, what are you going to use as a comparison since the screws are only available when the LMS-226 is out of the firearm?
My main gripe is the warranty service or truly the lack there of.
