I bought these because my old eyes can't seem to focus on the front sight as well as in the past. I was hoping for a brighter and maybe larger view, so I bought these sights.

I had them installed by a reputable gunsmith.

When I got to the range, I was disappointed in the size/brightness of the front sight and was shooting very low. I have since learned that these sights use a "Combat Sight Picture"....you have to pay the entire picture on your target, not set the target at the top of the posts like many stock sights.

I tried, but just couldn't get used to them. Since the front sight wasn't any better than my factory one, I switched back to my stock sights.

I bought the older version of this tripod in 2012. I used it at the range on a regular basis and it worked well. In early 2015, as I tried to adjust the vertical micro knob, it broke. I took it home and disassembled the vertical adjustment area. I saw that the threaded screw was steel, but the small piece that attached the knob to the screw was plastic and it had broken off.
I called Alpen Outdoors and explained my issue to the tech, hoping to get a new part. He said they didn't make that model anymore, so there were no parts available. Without hesitation, he offered to send me the new version of the product, which had steel parts and a more stable platform.

I had to send my broken one back, but the one I received was indeed a much better built tripod.

I couldn't be happier with both the product and the customer service from Alpen.

I am happy to say that I contacted Viridian about my issue and they were GREAT!
They immediately sent me a prepaid return postage authorization and RMA Number.
I received a working laser that functioned as advertised with 10 days.
I am very pleased with the way they supported their product and have changed my rating.

The green laser is amazingly bright, even outdoors.
