Leupold Alpine Tripod

Written on Dec 04, 2023

Lightweight, yes.In fact, this was impressive. The size, portability and the overall load was exactly what I was looking for when searching for a tripod. I have a folding carbon fiber Christiansen Arms 6.5 PRC MPR ; topped with a Leupold VX 6 HD 3-18x50 CDS-ZL2 30 mm scope. It’s weight comes out to be around 11 pounds. This Alpine Pro CF 425 is capable of handling weights of over 13 pounds. When collapsed, it’s. 28 inch length fits perfect in my backpack. Even the aesthetics are great. All in all, this tripod looks good, weighs next to nothing, and balances out my pack, being
adjacent from my spotting scope. I love it.
Except for a few things. Number 1 , I cannot believe Leupold put their name on this cheapo
Chinese made hunk of junk. You’ll need a crowbar with a cheater bar to tighten your gun down. Even with the legs all in , it s flimsy body wobbles. When the legs are half way out it lists , sways, leans amongst other adverbs. When let completely out , you are better off shooting free hand. This thing is terrible. It is not worth your money. Your better off taking your grandfather’s advice and grab a tree for stability to rest your gun on for a more accurate shot.
