TheAnalyst's Review of Duramag 7.62x39mm Stainless Steel 5 Round Rifle Magazine
First of all, to provide a proper review we all should all provide our own application to help others know if it will work with their own equipment.
Anderson Lower with a Strike Industries Enhanced LPK w/ Trigger Group.
Bear Creek Arsenal 16-inch with a Side Charger BCG and 300 Blackout Feed Ramps.
At first, dry out of the box, I proceed to load my TULA Ammo and try it...I racked it slowly and it jammed.
Next, I cleared everything and inspected the mag' it's getting stuck on the top lip because of the steel casing on the cartridge is thick.
I tried it again, this time I racked quickly, it feeds. I racked quickly it again, round comes out and it feeds...then the I try to rack it again and now the BCG is stuck...
Finally cleared it, I don't know what got stuck...decided to oil up the upper and the mags, got a cotton swab and oiled the ammo in the areas inside the mag just to make sure, this worked for all 10 tens rounds and tried 4 more mags, stil not 100%, getting a jam on the first 2 or 3 rounds...got frustrated and took a breather...
Did some research and decided to try my American Eagle Brass rounds...I racked it slowly and no problem. Next, I tried it again, this time I racked quickly, it feeds. I racked quickly it again, round comes out and it feeds...did all ten rounds and no problems...tried the other 4 mags and again no problem...whewww!
Just make sure, under BCA's recommendations, I ordered ASC mags, those did not have a problem at all with the steel or brass case rounds, they have better clearances on the top lip and front feeding area is much wider and lower.
So these C-Products/Duramags magazines work, but you gotta either dremel/file/buff them down in the problem areas or just use brass case ammo.
This is my experience, anyone else have a different upper please provide good feedback on what you are using to help others decide if this worth it, thanks!
I removed 1-star for the quality issues at Duramag, they can do better, if they care......
