Pricey but pretty awesome
I think that the overall quality of this product is class leading for red dot sights, and I love all the different thought out features that Mikey added to the design. The big thing keeping me from 5 stars is that I think at the current price point it should include the remote switch and the customi...

The plusses and minuses
I bought one when they were first released. $600 for a quality red dot was not terrible. After owning it for 5 years, here's what I've learned: The manufacturer, Mikey Hartman, who gave me his personal cell phone number the first time I had an issue not long after I bought the sight, ghosted. He was kind enough to throw in the IR remote control, but I was never able to get it to work. Now, the internal battery loses power very quickly and I've been unsuccessful in getting answers as to how to get it replaced. I can't even find anyone to talk to anymore. While the sight, when functioning, is an incredible one, it appears they will all end up in the garbage.
Pros:
- Paper weight
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- paper weight

Totally satisfied.
I have owned and operated this site for 6 years with no problem. The remote is difficult to adapt to the hand guard. Have not experienced any failures or other problems. Like other optics, it's for a specific purpose that will not satisfy everyone.
Pros:
- Field of view, target aquisition, clarity, not visible from the front. Don't need to give your target a counter point of aim.
Cons:
- none yet
Best Used for:
- CQB and out to 100 meters
Would recommend: Yes
Great ideas, terrible quality.
DO. NOT. BUY
I wanted to love this optic, it's a great idea, it has nice glass, it FEELS durable ( it's not) red dot itself is very clean and crisp. However, second time using it, it turns off on every shot, and it's only a .223 so it's practically useless. Customer support, zero, none existing. I wrote to them in January 2020, and still have recieved nothing in response, Sept 2020. I now own a very expensive paperweight, that I don't actually want.

GREAT CONCEPT, BAD EXECUTION
Imagine paying over $500 for something and not working properly just a couple months later. Man, I really wanted this to work because I'm actually a big Mikey Hartman fan (I love the Micro Roni and his vision for things). I actually bought two units. One kept turning off after charge after charge but would not turn back on just months after I bought it. I also bought the remote and had the hardest time setting it up, then it would not work later (garbage). I was lucky that the other one stayed working but later, if the CR battery was gone, it wouldn't keep a charge with just the USB charge. I have to keep a CR123 charged battery at all time.
I think the reason of their Cust Serv not being the best is because they are a small company and perhaps not enough staff. I get it. They're trying to create good products with great concepts, but I don't know that I would trust a new product from them right now. I solved all problems by replacing the Hartman with the Trijicon ACOG (and have had zero issues since day 1). Yes, they are almost double the money, but I can honestly say "I trust my life in the ACOG". Small price to pay when you look at it this way.

Terrible Product and Unprofessional Customer Service
I don’t often leave reviews but I feel like I must on this product. I purchased this Optic new back in Dec of 2017 at my local gun shop. I never got around to installing it until recently in September of 2019 so it just sat in my safe. Once installed and at the range I was unsuccessful in sighting in the optic. I tried on multiple outing and could get no closer to sighting it in and you know how crazy that can drive you when it should be a simple task. After many failed attempts I came to the conclusion that the turrets for windage and elevation were not changing the Point Of Impact. I then emailed CAA customer service for guidance as I knew my warranty would expire soon. By the time I received an email back from CAA it was January.
I spoke with Michael Grandy “sales manager” via email his initial email:
1/6/20
“Where was it purchased? Please provide an image of the bottom of your sight including the serial number.”
Which I sent him the same day he requested it 1/6/20 I did not hear back from Mr.Grandy. For a week So I decided to follow up with the following email.
1/13/20
“Hello Michael,
Is there any update on how i should proceed? Its been about a week since i sent the picture you requested.”
His response to my email
1/14/20
“ We haven’t received any MH1 sights from Israel for over 4 months so I’m not sure how we’ll proceed. I’ve reached out to the CEO, Mikey Hartman for clarification and will let you know the soonest. “

Defective and customer support ignores requests for support
Dont bother wasting your time. My battery port is defective so I only have the internal battery significantly reducing battery life and after multiple attempts to get assistance Carter would just ignore me each time....dont buy it. I do like it but they treat their consumers like trash
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Defective battery compartment design

Great design, poor supply
The MH1 I received worked out of the box. Optic was clear with a wide viewing space. Product seemed built well and was easy to use.
I put it on my SKS and it collected dust along with the gun in the corner for like 6 months. I would occasionally turn on the optic just to mess with it but I never actually fired a round through the rifle with the sight on the gun.
One day the sight would not stay turned on, it would light up and blink 3 times as if low battery. I replaced the backup battery; still nothing. I tried charging it 3 times and with 2 different cables...and still it wouldn't stay turned on (it would immediately blink 3 times then turn off).
Contacted CAA, they had me send it in to them for an RMA. That was in December of 2018. I have still not received a replacement as of 7/26/19. They tell me in e-mail that they've been waiting for new units to come in off of backorder, and 3 different times the rep told me ETA's only to turn around and say "still on backorder" when I asked around the time the new ones were supposed to be received. At this point I'm just assuming I'll never get a replacement and I won't see my $480 again...Seems like the company is just giving me the runaround on the RMA.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!
I pre-ordered this product when it first came out. It worked great the day on sight in day. the next week back at the range nothing... got a hold of CAA for warranty replacement caught some flack... Got my SECOND MH-1 now same issue. Optic number THREE came in i now have a paper weight they wouldn't do anything about the failures of their product or stand behind it. I was excited when i ordered it read and watched all the videos on it the MH-1 and its predecessor. All in all this optic is worse than the Walmart special.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- doesnt work

Red dot without the red dot!
Ordered the MH1 and it showed up in a foam case looking great to begin with. Tried to turn it on getting nothing. Plugged it in to charge it thinking that was the issue and got a red haze on the shooters side of the glass. Left it plugged in overnight and the red haze turned to green. Unplugged it and still no red dot!!! Think I got a dud so I sent it back to optics planet. Gonna try another one and hopefully get to change this review to a 5 if the next one works like it’s supposed to.
Pros:
- Mounts easily
- Appear to be good quality
Cons:
- No red dot!

Top of the line optic
Built like a tank. Excellent rail fastener system. The reticle on the MH1 makes EOTechs grainy fuzzy optic look like junk. You can’t see the reticle on this from the enemy’s side (unlike EOTech) and there’s no glow or reflection either. Largest view window of any optic. I was shooting 3” rocks on the side of a sandpit from 50 yards away. I watched so many optic review vids and the MH1 smoked all the “top optics” in an in-depth performance and feature/functionality shootout. No wonder the IDF troops use this.
Pros:
- crystal clear reticle
- Largest view window
- Holds Center
- Extra Backup Battery
- No Enemy-side view of reticle
Cons:
- You get what you pay for with a good optic. The price is fine
Best Used for:
- Eliminating bad guys
Would recommend: Yes
