Let me start by saying, thank you for taking the time to read this review! Pleasantries out of the way,I am an ex soldier, and I am a happy certified owner/user of A Smith and Wesson M&P 40. My heart was racing so fast that it beat me to the door when I saw my daughter running through my yard with the box. I was so excited when opening the box that I forgot to look at the instructions, but my wife says that is just me being a man. I had to take 2 bolts out to adjust the barrel to fit onto my weapon system. Folks, when i tell you this conversion kit fits better than my old pair of blue jeans, that is EXACTLY what i mean. THIS DOES FIT AN S&W M&P 40!!!! I would happily reach for this over an m4 to defend my house ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! I do not believe a better endorsement can be said. Stay safe and be good to eachother everyone. Yours truly,PFC Matt.
Pros:
- Fits like a glove, has advantageous attatchment availability, max comfort.
Best Used for:
- Defending home, target plinking, weapons drills.

I got online and ordered this set up for my gen 1 sw m&p 40, when I received this unit, I installed my 40 in this unit, it snapped into place great, but the back hatch door would not close, after reading up on the paper work sent, found out they sent me a gen 2, all I needed was a replacement for hatch for a gen 1, small little piece, could not have been more than 5 or 10 dollars , which I would have gladly paid for, I emailed them, took them awhile to email me back, so I called, the distributor said they would contact the manufacturer to try and resolve the problem, got an email finally that said cant send you the part, just box it up and send it back, not gonna do that, I'm a pretty good fabricator, so I'm gonna cut out the knotch on the door that's holding it off of the gun, wanted it to be factory but guess I'll deal with it, I made sure 3 or 4 differnt times that it was the gen 1 that I ordered , still received the wrong one, not happy with how they handled it, was gonna order more stuff from them, not to sure now, to many other manufacturers to choose from to deal with this
Pros:
- Love the feel, and set up
- Love the feel and setup

I ordered a CAA MCK GEN1 for my Smith and Wesson M&P 40 (1.0) Full Size. It was on sale for a great discount (and already pretty cost-effective), and I wanted to show "Old Reliable" some love beyond normal upkeep and cleaning. After countless hours of digging around the internet, watching and reading about reviews, and some back-and-forth between working with what I have, or just buying an "upgrade" home defense and an MCK GEN2, I decided to do what I could, with what I had. I have to say, hands down, I was impressed and happy right out of the box, even knowing it was a GEN1 MCK and didn't have some of the updates of the GEN2.
NOTE: CAA hasn't released a GEN2 MCK for the Smith and Wesson M&P 1.0 Full size. However the GEN1 MCK is available.
The Directions for set-up were very easy to follow, and it was very quick and simple to reconfigure it from compact to full size for fitment (literally 2 screws, and the Allen wrench (included)). Took 2 minutes. I made sure to read and follow the manual 1. Out of curiosity, and 2. To make sure I didn't miss anything in the details (as the mating of the platform and MCK is very easy to begin with). I just believe in "Do it right, means do it once". It came together nicely, the ergonomics (even without the thumb rests (recommended BTW) were nice, optics and accessories mounted without issue, and it feels great in the hands. Front mag holder had no issues retaining a loaded 15 rd. .40 S&W Mag. Top rail is Polymer but an Aluminum rail and ...

The MCK is beyond awesome. I’m am some what handicapped and as described this addition is very useful. It adds very little weight to the pistol. I have the SW M&P 2.0 9 mm. The pro’s of that is that I have 30 rounds at my disposal at all time with the extra mag holder or 60 rounds if I prefer. This is a very manageable size. I compare to a longer version of a Mac 9. For me the MCK seems to be more stable as I have somewhat of a strenght issue. The built in flashlight option is great as it helps maintain the narrow frame. I don’t like using side rails. In addition, I’ve mounted my Red Dot on it and this makes the MCK much more tactical. This is my go to self defense weapon if the need arises. By comparison to my AR, this is by far a much lighter option as the AR is I believe around 7 pounds or so. I can pack my MCK in a backpack and do take it with me most every where I go. It’s a little flimsy in the standard backpack, however; I will be buying the sling bag as to secure it better. All in all I am very pleased with the MCK. My son likes it so well he just purchased one for SD/VE. Well made to say the least.

I purchased this product thinking it was compatible with my m2.0 compact and believed what the description on the website said. When I received my product, the MCK was not compatible with my m2.0 compact. I had a 4 inch barrel and does not fit right with this kind MCK. Also, in the description they say it's a generation 4 MCK, but when i recieve the the product, it was only a Gen 2 which again didn't fit.

Purchased a Gen 2 for my new shield plud 3.1 inch barrel. The firearm fits fine but the front magazine holder on the MCK wont accept the shield plus magaxine. The slot is to narrow (designed for gen1&2 single stack). Deal breaker for me.. taking it back..bummed

Well I ordered this for my M&p under the impression it’s the newest version of the conversion, however apparently even though it’s advertised as “gen 4” it’s just a gen 1 that’s been modified to fit the M&p. Wouldn’t be a big deal if that was stated anywhere at all on the page but it’s not, so you get the old brace that does not allow folded firing and use of some of the new attachments they offer doesn’t work. Trust me I know after waisting a ton of money on accessories that don’t fit properly and being told by a caa employee that this is a gen 1. Definitely misleading by optics planet. Thanks

The kit feels like its durable. My pistol fits in it nicely and tight. no rattle or wiggle. Im giving it a 4 star because I slapped my extra mag into the slot and both plastic tabs broke that hold the mag in place. The flash light port has these same tabs. In all, I'm very satisfied with the product because of fitment of my pistol and the way it shoots.

I haven't had a chance to fire it yet. I really like the feel
of the set-up. This is mainly for my wife, I've been looking
for something lite and handy. After holding it my wife very favorable
toward it.

Works like it should. Looks cool and is fun. Gets things dirty though. So you have to do hella cleaning. Fde matches pretty well with other accessories. I love optics planet they got the best prices and gear for the enthusiast.
