Caldwell Lead Sled 3 820310
This is a good solid platform. I assembled the unit in minuets. The tray adjusts for shot bags or standard 25.lbs barbell weights.
There is not a lot or extras here its a simple rest but just what I needed.
I should have bought years ago..

Ok for small caliber rifles
I purchased this for my 6.5 CM Ruger precision rifle. I could not get the stand in place after each shot. I even wrapped a motorcycle strap around the bench and still moved. Stand will not hold a AR rstyle rifle., Handle hits bar running down the center of stand.
Good sled once fixed
There is only one thing I didn't like about this sled. It'll work great with traditional hunting rifles, but through anything with a magazine that hangs down, or has a pistol grip and you run into problems with the upper tube/bar. Easy fix, cut it off just forward of the stock rest and just forward of the weight tray and viola, now it'll cradle any rifle. I used 1 1/4" cane tips after filing and sanding to cover the edges so not to cut myself during use. it doesn't affect strength or hinder reduction of felt recoil and IMHO, it's the way it should have been made in the first place. The only reason not to, is so that you can't use it to sight in AR style rifles. How about it Caldwell?

rifle bench
Overall not a bad base, but I had an issue with it. The frame didn't align true 90 degree with the base due to holes in the frame drilled incorrectly, so I called the manufacturer and they replaced it without a problem. It serves it's purpose just fine but an improvement could be done to where rifle rests in there should be more of a deeper v shape, that would keep rifle more secure from movement when you zeroing a rifle. I will keep it.

I was skeptical about ordering this,it sounds too good to be true. I put a 25lb barbell plate on it,placed and snugged up my rifle. It makes sighting in a breeze. It's easy to assemble,and easy to use. It really works,I'll be damned.
