I am a novice at using this rest! The adjustments on the rest for windage and elevation moved smoothly and were easy to access. I did have problems as I went to snug the rifle into my shoulder. There is soft rubber installed in the bottom of the rest's stock well as well as behind it. So snugging the rifle to the rear results in it sinking into the bottom rubber resulting in a change of elevation on the hold you just had, Definitely different than using a rear sandbag rest! Good... sort of.
Got this to help zero my rifles and shotguns. It's probably fine for smaller caliber rifles. Lots of lateral play in the cradle, even with the rubber strap applied, so getting a repeatable followup shot still requires some skill and effort. The cushion helps with recoil but creates further play, as well.

Caldwell lead sled shooting platform Dft-2
It delivers as promised. I purchased the aldwell lead sled shooting platform dft-2 to stabilize and sight in a couple of rifle scopes. It made it very stable to shoot repeatable groups than with the aid of a spotter scope observe the groups make the elevation and wind age adjustments to zero in the scope on the rifle.

Great product well made
Takes all the human errors out of play when testing your loads and zeroing your rifle. Great price point from OpticsPlanet and I’m sure I will get many year of use out of it. I was impressed by the speed in which I received it fast delivery!

Much better than the first model!
This new Lead Sled solved a problem I experienced with the previous model. I found the elevation adjustment somewhat difficult to adjust in the earlier version - but not so with this one. It's also more stable w/o as much weight added to the base. I use the lead shot bags I once used as ballast in my SCUBA vest. Only a few are required and the thing is solid as a rock. I recommend it highly.
