Great adapter / unusable wrenches / prevents bipod damage to stock - Caldwell Swivel Stud to Picatinny Rail Adapter Plate

I got four. Very easy installation except three out of four of the supplied wrenches were oversized. They just went in enough to tease you but would tear up if you tried to use any torque. Only one wrench fully inserted. However this apparently one of a kind product is too useful to pass up on account of this. The adapter itself is of good quality and workmanship. It fits a wide variety of fore ends. The rubber protector is extremely tough. One problem with using a tilting Harris bipod (or similar designs) is that, when tilting, parts of the bipod can damage relatively wider and flatter fore ends. A Harris bipod using a Picatinny adapter attached to this Caldwell adaptor will provide lots of clearance so this won't happen. American Defense makes a nice adapter that can convert your Harris. It should pop us in a search for "American Defense AD-BP". It is no tools adjustable to different widths of Picatinny rails (they vary a lot). This adapter does not require the removal and possible loss of small parts of your Harris like the ARMS adapter, which is twice as expensive and not adjustable for different rail widths. The Harris attaches to a stud on the American Defense Adapter just like the Harris attaches the stud on a stock. A Caldwell Adapter plus the American Defense Adapter are a great combination that will give you all kinds of choices on how you can use Harris type bipods.
