Of three different brands of moderately-priced electronic ear muffs, these Caldwell G3's are the best I have tried. They over-amplify sound directionally. Perfect for hunting, where allowed. A real asset for RSO duty at the club or BSA Troop shoot Range Master. A bit large. Good battery life. Can be brushed "ON" by accident. I have used these so long that the ear cushions are splitting. Need to find replacements. I really like these.
Pros:
- They over-amplify sound directionally. Perfect for hunting, where allowed. A real asset for RSO duty at the club or BSA Troop shoots.
Cons:
- A bit large. Can be brushed "ON" by accident.
Best Used for:
- Perfect for hunting, where allowed. A real asset for RSO duty at the club or BSA Troop shoots.
- Perfect for hunting, where allowed. A real asset for RSO duty at the club or BSA Troop shoot Range Master.

I returned these as the fit and finish was sub standard. They we flimsy and seemed fragile. They needed too many batteries and in order to put them in I thought I was going to break it so I never installed the batteries to check function, that is why they received 2 stars not 1. Spend a few more bucks get Leight impact pro, I did and happy with leight

I have only been able to use these a few times, but so far they are working perfectly fine.
Pros: Much better than using regular ear muffs
cons: They do take six triple A batteries, so do remember to shut them off once your finished.

Great ear protection for range. Electronics work well for this price level and speech recognition while not to the $300 dollar protection level meets its goal. Would definitely purchase again. Battery life also good.

Very happy with this product. Works as described, keeps out gun noise but lets you hear everything else around you. Works great for range shooting and can also be used for hunting. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Since I have been an avid hunter from the age of eight years of age,I've come to realize how critical my hearing is to hunting.I have lost some hearing because I did not use ear protection when shooting my guns. After hours of research , I purchased the Caldwell electronic hearing protection. They work great! They reduce the loud "bang" and provide excellent amplification .Price is fantastic!

This is my second pair and I feel the quality is the same as the more expensive hearing protection. I use them for my permit to carry classes which is great for being able to hear my students when they ask questions.

Caldwell is best in ratio of price/ quality. It is not my first Caldwell Platinum series electronic hear protection. I have only the best expierences. Bettery life is very long, in my first Caldwel I have first alkalic battery. This model is comfortable.
Pros:
- Quality, price, endurance of battery

Excellent "bang" attenuation (even for 30.06 and .308) without adversely affecting normal-decibel hearing acuity. Very good fit. Best electronic muffs for the price I have ever owned. Very highly recommend.
Pros:
- Bang attenuation
- Excellent resolution and discrimination.
Cons:
- Headband breaks easily at intersection with wire muff attachments.
