Works like a charm, got buy with punches but well worth the investor

I AM A NOVICE TO UPGRADING AND REPLACING PISTOLS SIGHTS, BUT WITH THIS TOOL WAS A BREEZE AND INSTRUCTIONS ARE EASY TO FOLLOW. THIS TOOL WAS HEAVY DUTY AND SEEMS TO BE WELL BUILT LIKE ALL THE OTHER WHEELER PRODUCTS I HAVE. FOR ALL MY OTHER PISTOL SIGHT REPLACEMENTS THIS TOLL WILL BE A BREEZE TO USE IN MY OTHER PROJECTS.

I’ll keep it simple—this tool does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it does it well.
It holds slides securely, applies force in a controlled way, and overall just functions like a sight pusher should. Setup is straightforward, and once everything is aligned, it works without fighting you or creating new problems.
I’ll be upfront—I might be a little biased coming into this. I recently used another tool in the same category that, on paper, looked solid but completely fell apart in actual use. Poor stability, inconsistent pressure, and it made a simple job harder than it needed to be. That experience makes the difference here very obvious.
Is it perfect? No. There’s still some play in the system, and you can get a little bit of slide torque under load. But realistically, without a fully slide-specific fixture or dedicated vise setup, that’s going to be hard to eliminate entirely. Within that reality, this tool performs very well.
Bottom line: it works, it works consistently, and it makes the job easier. That’s what matters.

Well made, I oiled the cross screw before use and it drifted my rear sight flawlessly. Setup is fairly complex due to the amount of adjustment options. They designed enough adjustment components into the tool to make it effective, secure, and keep the slide from taking damage. The gradients of adjustment could be more pronounced for better visibility. There is no metric to center the slide, so I decided to use a laser bore sight tool to center the windage, which worked flawlessly. I lubricated the dovetail with some steel safe mild loctite to aid in friction reduction and set the sight once cured. I have no doubt this tool will drift any sight as long as the set screws are removed and a penetrant is used if you get oxidation lock. Solid tool, well made!

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but Optics Planet has been relentless with the review emails, so here you go. I'm assuming the Wheeler and all the other Orange ones are coming out of the same factory. Just be aware. I thought I was getting Wheeler quality, but some components were bent or machined incorrectly. The millwork was pretty rough also. Definitely not QC'd before anodization. Bright side is the instructions say to reach out to Wheeler first. I did and they made it right quickly. We will see what shows up from Wheeler. Hopefully a quality product as expected from Wheeler.

The product does exactly what it says. I have a pistol that shot to the right, using the Wheeler product allows me excellent control of the front sight. I couldn't find any marks on the finish after the project was completed

I will give it five stars, but it "feels" like you are going to snap the grip wheel off, in the process of moving the gun sights (Kimber 1911). There is a lot of pressure against the four spoke wheel for the size of the threaded rod that is connected to it. As for the four securing screws on the tool, I would suggest using rubber on the ends of the screw pads against the rail/slide to secure it in the tool. That way you won't scratch the gun rail. I cut up some tool box matting and it works fine. It is thin enough so there is no flexibility caused by the rubber sheeting.

Hubby had gotten a Beretta M9A4 that came from the factory with its sights misaligned. This sight tool was easy to use right out of the box and seems to be of good quality. He’s also happy to have gotten another tool to add to his gunsmithing collection for a reasonable price.

I never write reviews but I felt I had to write this one. I changed my Glock sights with extreme ease. I didn’t even have to tape up the slide and the equipment did not cause any scratches to my slide. I was amazed at how well and fast this worked. Definitely feel the quality. I will now be saving a ton of money by no longer having to go to the smith to change any of my handgun sights. Sight tool will pay for itself. Worth every penny.
