Great home defense barrel

Does not fit all rem 870
Says it on the websight and the box, "fits all 12 ga. Remington 870" it does NOT fit rem 870 super mag with hardwood stock. Handguard will not fully retract and chamber next round. Perfect Drop-in Replacement
I was skeptical about the fit after reading other reviews but decided to chance it. Glad I did because the Carlson barrel was a perfect fit for my 1960's vintage Rem 870. A bonus is that now the gun can also handle 3" shells since it has the longer action bars. Recommend this item and Optics Planet for their fast handling of my order.

Great Finish, Quality Product.
The carlson's barrel is a sligth departure from the usual Remington manufactured version, but it is a high quality device. An even exterior finish exceeds anything found on any Express in my lifetime, and the bore is as mirror bright as any shotgun barrel has been.
I bought mine to make a 'foreign' 870 with the turkish barrel paired with italian WOOX furniture, and I have to say I'm happy with the final result.

Not Rifled, can’t change front sight.
I ordered a rifled barrel. I received a non-rifled barrel with a rifled choke. I already own a rifled choke, I was trying to upgrade, so that was a waste.
The front sight can’t be changed. Cheesy.
Made is Turkey, not US like other Carlsons products.

Carlson 18” with irons
This barrel has held up well, it fits my 870 Wingmaster like a glove and has a decent finish. The irons had to be shifted all the way left to zero but it’s on target with slugs. It also fits and holds many different chokes which I tested all the way to full chokes through it so the threads are good and held up as well.
Overall a great barrel if you’re looking for something with iron sights I’d recommend loctite on the screws for the rear sight but other than that this barrel fits and patterns great.

Good replacement barrel
Based off fitment and looks alone the barrel is good. Haven't fired any rounds through it yet, but it's a shotgun. Not looking for tight group shots here. Tacticool points acquired going from long barrel to the 18.5

Finally got my barrel
I’ve been searching for a shorter barrel for my Remington 870 for a long time. Every company was out of stock for a very long time and I finally found one. The barrel fits perfectly and looks amazing. Thanks

pretty good for the money
It fit well and seemed to pattern alright with buckshot. I personally put it on an old wingmaster and there were no issues at all with feed or extraction. I really dont know why they make you make these reviews so long. Why are you still reading this? Just buy the barrel.
