Just received this today and I am well pleased. Mine focuses down to less than three feet, but your experience may vary depending on your eyesight. I could read the very small print on a prescription bottle at about five feet so the glass is clear and bright, especially for this price point. I didn't test the water resistance, but I went outside and looked at a microwave tower about a mile away on a hill, and it was easy to focus and observe it. At ten power its necessary to brace any optic to get a clear view, and it was easy to hold the BlackWave to accomplish that. The focus wheel is firm b...

Monocular for shooting

I have not used this Carson monocular for target shooting yet but what I've used it to check distances has been very encouraging. I think for the price it's a great bargain purchase. I would buy it again.

Great value

Bright, Clear, good focus up to as close as about 4 feet away. (Surprisingly useful, BTW). You get a lot for your money. It’s small and lightweight so I carry it more often than any other optics I have.
Pros:
  • See above, high quality, low price
Cons:
  • none so far
Best Used for:
  • Hiking, backpacking, casual, everyday carry

It works like it should

Only used this a couple times since I got it. It gives a clean clear view. I got it to do target spotting on a range. At first I thought it did not magnified enough ... then I realized I was reading the scale on a ruler at 10 yards. Perfect for my purpose. I have not tested the waterproof feature yet ... but, it seems very well made ... I bet it is waterproof.
