Awesome product.
Pros: Easy to capture bugs in a self contained SAFE compartment that prevents the bugs from getting revenge after thir abduction and evaluation.
Cons: No electricity to zap the bugs after you abduct them from their natural environment.

Plastic sliding trap door needed adjustment. Doesn’t seal great for tiny bugs. Works great otherwise. Super for magnifying and viewing bugs. As adults we have had a blast with this supposed child’s toy.

Fun in the backyard
My daughter loves finding bugs and trying to figure out what they are. This allows her to catch them and get a better look at them, a lot easier than trying to hold them in her hand. It seems to be made pretty well and it's been fun to use.

I used to buy the Bug Buddy for transporting bugs out of our home but found this think it's even better. It allows you to pick up bigger bugs and view them (even scarily magnified) before safely putting them outside!

Fantastic bug catcher
As crazy as it may sound, we love our bug catcher! We have bought them for friends who have seen us use it. It has been great for the "stink bug invasion" in our part of the country this year.

Best Bug Catcher Yet
The slider has a little bow to it, preventing it from making a clean catch of any bug that refuses to jump up on the slider and stay on the surface of the wall, floor or ceiling. This sometimes smashes the poor little bug.
But overall, it is the best catcher we have found! We have one for every room in our Costa Rica house!

BugView works
My 4-year-old enjoys this toy. So far I've put all the bugs in it, but he puts inanimate objects in all the time to see them under the magnifier and likes to open and close the slider. The only usability issue is that to see something through the magnifier, it has to be somewhat centered, and that can be a challenge because the slider is slightly bowed upward and things tend to slide to the edges unless it is held perfectly flat. Nonetheless, it works well enough to inspire my 4-year-old to ask for nature walks.
