I have been in Astronomy since 2018, and I have this particular Tripod the Celestron Photographic and Video Tripod item number 93606. I also have a spare one. I have various other Tripods such as the Celestron Hummingbird Tripod, the Meade Instruments Classic 30 Photo Tripod but I found that the Celestron Photographic and Video Tripod item number 93606 is the best Tripod for both of my Telescopes the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and the Orion GoScope III Telescope. I also will do is attach the quick release Plate / Shoe on the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and have the same Quick Release Plate shoe on the other Telescope which is the Orion GoScope III Telescope by having the Quick Release Plate / Shoe on either Telecopes on both Telescopes and use one Tripod is really a better thing I just interchange both Telescopes. I can use both Telescopes on one Tripod one at a time. I also have it easier when using my Telescope, I don't have to unscrew the quick release plate and attach it to the other Telescope. By having two Telescopes with a Quick Release Plate / Shoe will be a better thing. All in all, this particular Tripod is easier for me to use with my two Telescopes.
Best Used for:
- Astronomy and Terrestrial observing

I have been in Astronomy since 2018, and I found that this particular Tripod the Celestron Photographic & Video Tripod item # 93606 is rahter easy to use, not only will my Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope working on the Tripod I found that this Tripod is fun to use. I have an extra Quick Release Plate / Shoe to attach on my other Telescopewhich is the Orion GoScope III Telescope I will attach the Quick Release Plate / Shoe in a few days. Even though Manufacturer Celestron discontinued this great Tripod and they no longer have this Tripod available. It even comes with a carry bag so I can take it to the little park. I have looked at other Tripods such as the Trailseeker, the Heavy Duty Alt - Azimuth the Regal Premium and the Ultima Pan Tripod. I even have the Celestorn Hummingbird Tripod but I use that as my standby reserve Tripod. But I like the Celestron Photographic & Video Tripod the best and it's one of my favorite Tripod to use with my Telescope. One thing to remember Keep this Tripod you will simply love it. Don't give it away Keep this Tripod.

Having been in Astronomy since 2018 and I have two small Telescopes, an Orion GoScope III Telescope and a Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope both came with Tripods but I have tried different Tripods, but the one Tripod I am now using with the Celestron Travel Scope is the Celestron Photographic and Video Tripod item number 93606. I found out that this Tripod is really the best Tripod for the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and attaching it to the Tripod is a snap with the included quick release shoe. And the zippered black carry bag is also a great thing to have when you want to pack the Tripod in it and you want to travel. All in all this is a great Tripod and it is a a Great value and it fits the bill.

I bought this tripod with the Ultima 80 spotting scope as a package deal. It isn't professional grade, but it is strong, lightweight and easily adjustable. I used it twice before noticing a problem. One of the legs had a locking clip that wasn't tight enough, so that leg slowly retracted while supporting the scope. Not good. I called Celestron and prepared myself to argue my case. To my surprise, the customer service rep took my info and offered to send me a NEW tripod free of charge. They didn't even ask me to send in the old one! I'm so impressed with this company that from here on out I'll be buying all my optics gear from them.
Pros:
- great value for the money

I bought this tripod to mount a small spotting scope. It's barely good enough for that. The entire thing feels so cheap, flimsy and plasticky. I'll be giving this to someone desperate for a tripod and buying a real, all metal, tripod. You get what you pay for holds true.
