I was hoping to use this "modular chest set" to create a modular multi-platform chest rig. After receiving this I looked it over and was not disappointed in the quality of the material and it seemed well made/constructed.
Then I tried it on. It seemed to ride a lot higher than I was comfortable with, but after loosening the straps and putting it back on, I noticed the bib chest portion was disallowing the rig from riding lower. I looked it over and realized this part of the chest set only allows for about maybe an inch or two of variation, which is not a lot and in my case, not enough.
I don't quite understand why the designers for Condor didn't allow for some more customization with this setup. I looked at other options offered by Condor, but unfortunately for some reason, the only other option they offer is only offered for sale to LE or Military personnel which is not only frustrating but a real head-scratcher.
It would have been nice to know how limited this supposed modular chest set was before I spent the money on their Scorpion Multicam version.
The other design flaw was to find that there was no way to remove the bungie keepers for the mag pouches which exist at the front of the vest, without just cutting them off entirely.
I see so many chest rig designs which seem to be only half measures that I have pondered designing my own modular setup and catering to the vast hole in this marketplace.
I sincerely hope that Condor listens to it's clientele and designs ...
