Most Helpful Positive Review Covert Hollywood Trail Camera
I've used multiple brands of trail cameras for decades, even before they came popular. Very few models today offer white flash so that night photos are all in full color. I actually had some of the very early Covert keyhole cameras, one of which is still in operation today. This Covert Hollywood is just what I've been waiting for. A lot of people think the white flash spooks game animals. I'm not saying it doesn't ever but I've got thousands of photos of whitetails (including some and the same mature bucks) time and again with no reaction to the flash. Good news, bad news.

by Dave, from CA, United States Written on November 22, 2022
This camera has several features that attracted me to it, including color flash night photos. The set up was not too difficult, and I had it working quickly. I set the claimed resolution at 12MP and the motion sensing at the medium level.

Bad news: 1) It quickly became apparent that the claimed 12 - 18 MP resolution was interpolated and sharpened beyond useful levels. My old 5MP camera gave me sharper results. I reduced it to 8MP which at least saves memory space and looks less over-sharpened.
2) The camera took dozens of pictures with nothing of interest in the frame, no critter, nothing moving. I reduced the motion sensitivity to the lowest level which helped a little. It still responded well to deer way out at a distance, but also continued with too many "nothing" pictures.

If all you want is a minimal record shot of what is out there it will do the job, but claiming the higher levels of resolution implies that it will do more than that. I am disappointed.

This is a great trail camera that takes color night photos. Great quality at an awesome price. Easy set up and use. Quality of the night colored photos is great as are the daytime photos. So far have got good life out of the AA batteries. The cmaeras have so far survived our crazy Georgia weather.

  • Price

Good easy to use camera. Took great quality pics. The camera seems to be strong. I had a bear try to destroy it but it held up! I need to type more gibberish in order to submit the review but I do like the camera and would recommend it to others.
