I have been returning to iron sights on some of my ARs. They don’t fog up, they are more robust, they don’t use batteries, and they areless complex than scopes. Daniel Defense makes a nice unit for those wanting to get back to basics.

Rock solid. Simple. This is the evolution from a tried and tested winner, the A2. It is meant to be a backup, but there’s no reason you couldn’t run this as part of a “primary” iron sight configuration. I grew up on iron sights, tend to prefer them over optics, and know what I can do with them at different distances. That said, I use this on a very basic AR15 meant for CQB. Never liked the price… but opticsplanet helps with that. Nab one today and see what I mean.

The mounting screw needs to be replaced with a socket head cap screw to prevent marring when you are mounting the sight.

The sight mounted perfectly and is extremely light weight. It feels very durable and lines up with my a2 sight. It costs more than the competition but you can tell that you get what you pay for. It’s a great addition to my mid length lightweight rifle.

I would buy this rear iron sight a million times over just not from Optics Planet because they are way too expensive here. My advice is if you’re really wanting this particular sight go to Daniel Defense website and get it there for sooooooo much cheaper. Your welcome!

This product is just what I was looking for. Easy to adjust, accurate. Can't go wrong with this one, would buy again. Experience with opticsplanet was great as well. The item shipped quickly and received without any issues.

I use this sight on every AR I own for three reasons. First, I don't need to carry or find a star bit or an Allen key to remove or adjust it, just a simple flat screwdriver. Second, It's set and forget. Once it is sighted in I don't have to worry about accidentally bumping a wheel or turning a knob, yet it's easily adjusted with the tip of a round. Once it's set, it's set. Third, it doesn't have sharp edges to tear up your hand when you have to manipulate your charging handle. This is the perfect companion to the Daniel Defense front sight, I recommend them both.
Pros:
- light weight
- rugged
- reliable
- Simple

Great, heavy-duty iron sight. Tougher that flip ups, but low profile as to not block the window of a co-witnessed optic. Big improvement over A2-based iron sight designs as the A2 elevation adjustment is serious overkill and needlessly complex for backup irons, shooting under ~300yds, or anything that isn't a NRA rifle match.
Best Used for:
- Backups for carbines/pistols

This is one of the best rear sights on the market by a reputable manufacture. The rear aperture flips easy but it still stiff enough to stay in place under recoil of even a 308. Also co witnesses with most optics.
Best Used for:
- Home defense, LEO/Military use
