Top Quality at great value
I was looking for a mil-spec buffer to replace a commercial spec on my Bushmaster LR308(ar10) and I really wanted to keep the price reasonable but didn't want the quality issues i read about on most sub $30 tubes. I hadn't heard of Dark Hour so i called them and they were super responsive and with g...

Sloppy fit
Great concept but when I stuck my CTR stock on there it was much more sloppy/wiggly than my Strike or PWS buffer tubes. If you want less slop then I'd suggest getting something else. There is another brand that makes an 11 position tube out of titanium or something but it's much more expensive.
Great for finding perfect position
While the length of the stock being attached and position of lock/unlock mechanism plays a role in how far you can seat it (I have it on 2 rifles, 1 SBR and 1 14.5pinweld). Having a wide array of positions for a compact build is great to keep the length shorter and finding a good cheekweld to align with the optic.

best buffer tube ever
I love this buffer tube. The 11 adjustment points are great for getting perfect distance to a scope with very precise eye relief. It's also very light weight and has a nice angled shape (vs prefect circular cylinder). I had no issues adding my preferred stock to it. I understand that Dark Hour is a sister company to Vseven, and this is basically the vseven tube at about half the price (vseven i believe is made from better and more expensive materials, but with law of diminishing returns, I don't see how spending over $100 on a tube will have any noticeable difference to this one that was $50-60ish. To my mind, the difference in price to a traditional tube is well worth it for what you're getting.
Pros:
- Everything
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- any carbine length rifle build

Better than most.
It looks great and functions flawlessly just as described. It also has a slot for the buffer tube detent which makes it very simple to make sure the tube is nicely balanced & will stay that way. Definitely a level up compared to your basic standard milpsec buffer tubes.
Pros:
- Doubles adjustment versatility, slot for detent, and looks good.
Cons:
- None
- none can see
Best Used for:
- SBR or Carbine rifle

The BEST Buffer Tube, PERIOD!
I can’t say enough about this Buffer tube! I’m a snob when it comes to AR parts, I only buy the best for my builds! I wanted the V Seven 2055 11 Position Carbine Buffer Tube, but it was (and still is) sold out everywhere. Luckily, I know that Dark Hour Defense is made by V7, to the exact same specs, on the exact same machines, just with regular aluminum, instead of their special proprietary metals, so I decided to take a chance & try this buffer tube, & boy am I HAPPY I did!!! It is identical in every way to the V7, except it is made out of regular 7075 t6 Aluminum, & is about half the price! It has 11 positions (which is truly EVERYTHING!!! If u haven’t tried 1, u r seriously missing out!!!), it’s super lightweight at 3.7oz, & the aerodynamic shape of it somehow makes every stock/brace/etc look & feel so much better! Gone r the days of shaky stocks & braces! (Don’t worry ATF, my braces r on 16” barrels)! In fact, since trying my SBA3 & SBA4 braces on this buffer tube, I’m actually almost angry at SB Tactical for selling their braces on such inferior tubes! Paired with this one from DHD, they r so much better! I’ve read other reviews stating that their was slack with the SBA braces, but that is not the case AT ALL with any of my 4! This tube also has the detent lock that locks it into place/prevents rotation, & the little feed ramp that helps guide the BCG into the tube! This buffer tube is SOLID! I just can’t say enough about it! I am now replacing all of my other premium-br...

way too snug
I'm having the opposite success of other folks, it does not fit my Magpul Moe SL stock, its incredibly tight and I have to mortar my stock with the toggle fully pressed down to adjust my stock closed. I'll try some dry lube and edit my comment if they allow it on here, but we will see.
Also the images don't do it justice, its literally hard anodized black like every other part on the market, but the images make it look like a gun metal smokey grey color, it is indeed true black like any other AR-15 part.

Pros:
- 11 positions
Cons:
- VERY SNUG fit on Magpul Moe SL stocks.
Best Used for:
- Instagram flex photos and nothing serious.

Nice finish and features, could be a tighter fit
Nice looking with lots of adjustment and anti tilt lip
Slightly loose fit with an SBA3 but no rattle just not as snug as it could be. I have the Dark Hour 13-click A5 length tube as well and that one is a nice snug fit on the same brace

Awesome Quality
For those that don't know Dark Hour is a side company of V Seven. Dark Hour was created to fit into the lower price bracket but do so while creating fine crafted and finished products just the same as V Seven and did so by using mil-spec alloys instead of the more exotic alloys used by V Seven. Crafted on the same machines, by the same folks as V Seven, just at a lower price point. This buffer tube is top notch. If you have any doubts just get one and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

The other reviewer is right it is a sloppy fit
I purchased this buffer tube being very skeptical about the quality, it being at the time I purchased at $33. I was pleasantly surprised at the construction of the buffer tube however the other reviewer is right my fab defense stock also has a lot of wiggle. I ended up having to stick electrical tape on the inserts to shore it up and there’s still a lot of play. In the picture it look like the buffer tubes is almost grey, it’s not it’s definitely a black, the black is actually darker black than the Anderson lower I have on my rifle. The buffer tube is also shinier than I’d like it to be, I would’ve preferred more of a flat black to one match the rest of the rifle and two because shiny things just look cheap. Not that it’s overly shiny it’s just shinier than any other part of the rifle.
