DeSantis Roscoe Cross Draw Leather Belt Holster
The search for the ideal concealed carry holster is a never ending quest for most folks. I have been wearing the DeSantis cross draw holster for several weeks and am very satisfied. The leather and craftsmanship are excellent. The holster is very flat. With a S&W 642 with concealed hammer and small round grip the gun does not print. It conceals well under just an untucked polo shirt. The cross draw carried forward in the 10-11 o'clock position is quite comfortable and has the advantages of appendix carry while being an OWB holster. I find IWB holsters to be uncomfortable. DeSantis Roscoe
The Roscoe by DeSantis is a cross draw holster for the S&W 642. The workmanship is high quality, as is the leather. Perfect for concealed carry and specifically for driving where a seatbelt could interfere with a on unobstructed draw. For everyday carry it hugs your body making the pistol virtually disappear. Does it print? It does slightly print, it is not as stealthy as a pocket, but try drawing a pistol from your pants pocket while buckled in with a seat belt. My only wish would be about 10° more of a cant angle.

Fits my gun well but has retention issues
I realize there is a break in period for the holster, but I kept having to loosen the retention screw until it and its washer finally fell out. Optics Planet customer service was totally unresponsive. I finally got hold of DeSantis customer service and they are sending me a new retention screw. The weapon is a very hard draw with the screw really loose and that is after constant and repeated draw attempts to help break it in. I do love how it fits my weapon though.

This holster fills a niche. In Arizona we rarely wear an outer cover garment so carrying a full size pistol concealed can be a challenge. This holster conforms to your body and doesn't print. The gun is immediately available while driving. A gun carried at 4 o'clock, or in a pocket, is difficult to access while driving. The S&W 642 is not my primary carry choice. However, when warm weather wardrobe limits your concealment options this appears to be a very good option. The cross draw holster is actually more concealable and more comfortable than I thought it was going to be.
Pros:
- Very Flat. Doesn't Print
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- CCW
