Fit on Aero Precision upper with some modification

So this item is awesome. I had to shave a small bit off of the tip of the charging handle pin. the mount was perfectly in between the rail on the Aero Precision upper. If I moved it forward it hit the hand grip. Rearward it didn't allow the charging handle to lock. Once shaved down the rear rail slot locked perfect. Nothing 2 minutes on a dremmel couldn't handle. The part that was shaved is hidden so still looks unmodified. functionally it took a few attempts racking it to get to finally cycle without binding on itself. Apply some extra grease and your good to go.

Devil Dogs Rocks

This is the third Devil Dog Concepts makeshift side charger I have purchased. If you can't have the real deal then this is the next best thing. Being able to keep your trigger hand on the grip while charging or clearing up an issue alone justifies this purchase. Ease of installation and ease of use make this just another plus in the you should get one column, if your keeping a plus and minus column.

I have a couple of dedicated Sadie charging uppers, on a couple AR variants, they work great, but are expensive. The Devil Dog Hard Charger, is well made, easy to install, and work very well. And the added bonus of an affordable price. Quality, features, and a fair price, what’s not to like. I will purchase another.

Cons:
  • Slightly more bulky than dedicated upper
Best Used for:
  • Anyone who has a scope mounted on their AR, for sport, target, competition.

Awesome for when a large scope is being used, you don’t have to fight to get to the charge handle. So much easier to charge! I have bought at least 10 of these from Devil dog!! Easy to install. Easy to use.

buy it works great

I haven't run into any issues with this. I have run it in 22lr upper and 9mm upper.....makes the rifle feel like a factory side charging platform. I will be buying another. I bought the tactical one because i run irons and optics and it is places perfectly imo on the picatinny rail. Instructions leave something to be desired. They dont tell you where to install for full range of motion and stability. The front end fits perfectly in a notch on the upper close to the barrel/handguard.

Make sure you get the model that works with your sight setups but if you are running a scope this is the way to go. Plus side charging is just cool anyways Great product! Would buy again for other AR builds.

This is such a cool option for anyone wanting side charging on their rifle. It looks and feels good. You can charge it without losing sight of what your aiming at. It's very handy if you know what I mean. And optics planet has very fast shipping everytime I order from them.
