I used short spring noticed less muzzle flip and faster follow up shots.

I consider myself a novice / intermediate shooter. Running the VP9L prior to the recoil spring installation was a great gun to shoot. Recoil wasn’t bad and follow up shots took a bit longer to get back on target but overall is a great gun to shoot. After the DPM installation, I noticed I was able to get follow up shots down range a bit quicker and was able to get my green dot on target a bit easier. I’m no PewView shooter who can dump 15rds on a target in rapid succession with barely any visible recoil, but I was able to fire at least 1 round every 1-2 seconds at a distance of about 25yards which beats my previous time with the OEM recoil spring at the same distance as I had to readjust my line of sight after each shot with the OEM spring. I will note that I do have suppressor height sights which sort of impede my view with my green dot and thus slowed me down a bit more for follow up shots. Just something to note for anyone in a similar situation as me. I will note, it’s a b’tch and a half to install but it’s nothing to warrant a negative review, it’s just a tough spring to install haha

I use this dpm with a fab kpos vp9 conversion kit. I used the smaller spring , and it was easy to install . A few things I've noticed: The red dot site is easier to maintain focus through when using this dpm over the factory. 2nd , transitions back faster after firing with better grouping than using the factory rod in the conversion kit. 3rd, i suffer from neck and spine injury, and this just feels better after 100 rounds than using the factory rod, which leads me to believe it does help with recoil.

Didnt find the install that difficult like other reviewers. Its harder than the oem spring system for sure but not overly difficult. Didnt find the recoil reduction to be significantly better than the oem. Marginal improvement if that. If you dont like the gun i wouldnt recommend banking on this to change your mind.

Whoever designed this never actually installed it. Look elsewhere.

Works quite well, does reduce the spring recoil. Took some trials and multiple firings to determine which spring to use with the intended ammo load. I also had assistance from the Range Safety to observe the recoil.

I would highly recommend this dpm recoil system for all hk handgun owners. It made my vp9 to have less recoil for control and less time readjusting your eyes to find your sights. So I’m happy with this product by Dpm. Also will buy another for other handguns that will own.
