Quality, Well Built Barrel
My first venture into carbon barrels. It was a little heavier than I expected, but still lighter than a bull barrel of solid metal. Tolerances are great and with just a few tools (you can purchase here very economically), it is not hard to swap out or install to a non-barreled action.
Three things: 1) you might want to upgrade to a more user friendly barrel nut than the factory Savage one from the barrel you’re replacing and 2) If you don’t have a muzzle brake or suppressor to install, you’ll want to purchase the threaded muzzle nut. 3) I put mine on an MDT Chassis and although it is slightly larger in diameter than MDT recommends, it fits and performs fine. (Before I purchased, I got technical assistance from MDT who assured me that it would fit fine.)
Great investment. Turns an average weapon into a great performing weapon.
