Most Helpful Positive Review Better than I'd hoped for
I have a fine old pair of Swarovskis for field birding - a little heavy, but a dream in action. I needed a pair of binoculars that could focus down to less than two metres and be very good in poor light I was not satisfied with what birders were recommending so I went to sites where biologists who look for lizards, frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, etc., wrote about their experiences with binoculars. The Eagle Ranger stood out in this field and appeared to be the best buy. Not only has it surpassed my expectations, but is equally good in the field in general. And is superb value for money! Pr...

review of eagle optics 8x42 binoculars

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on January 15, 2011
I have purchased five pair of Eagle Optics binoculars. They were recommended at a birding and butterfly class at the Living Desert in California. They're great for viewing wildlife while boating.
Pros: easy to adjust, lightweight, focuses up close

Eagle Optics 8x42 binoculars

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from AK, United States Written on October 24, 2010
For birding and scenery viewing while hiing mountains, the light weight of these binoculars is appreciated, especially over my 7x50s. (But, those larger ones were purchased for another purpose, anyway.) My wife and I both like these Eagle 87x42s. A good bang for the buck.
Pros: light weight, good optics
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes

The Eagles Soar - Eagle Optics 8x42 A Must Have for All Birdwatchers

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on March 26, 2010
Eagle Optics 8x42 Ranger SRT Water Proof Binoculars SRT-0842-3 are probably the best thing I've ever spent money on. I've been an avid birdwatcher for more than 30 years. Recently, I had an opportunity to try out a pair of Swarovski 8x42s and was very impressed with everything, except the price. I am so glad I didn't waste $2,000 on them. My Eagle Rangers have all the perks of those high priced field glasses, but came at a completely affordable price. These field glasses are absolutely amazing. Their image is crystal sharp, the distance viewing stunning, and they have yet to fog up on me, even when birdwatching in very poor conditions. They also work great in low light. I've seen flickers going into their nesting hole at dusk with perfect clarity, where once I would only see shadows. I can't give a strong enough recommendation for this product. They are the perfect field glasses. Thanks so much for making them!
Pros: Excellent distance viewing. Sharp, crystal clear images. WATERPROOF!!!
Cons: Haven't Found One Yet
