So I recently ordered the V90 Battleship and upon arrival it looked okay. The stitching was all in place as I expected from Eberlestock. However, as I was prepping for a trip I noticed that the mesh back panel was unbuckled and a buckle was missing. It looked like someone was playing with the pack and removed a buckle as nothing was broken. It was just simply missing. For those who don’t know the back mesh is used to hold a radio or other objects.
I contacted Opticsplanet customer support for help. I will update later once I get resolution to this.

The clasping systems are designed very well. Allows for partial opening or complete opening. “Tear open” Main bag zippers work flawlessly with the entire bag contents within visibility and reach. Minor compartmentalism within the main body helps with packing for extended periods. In response to someone who asked about weight capacity, Everlestock has a video that may even be viewable through OP site showing that they stacked (iirc) 700 pounds of cement bags in and on the V90 before failure, and it was a failure of a buckle. The rest of the bag, stitching, zippers and frame withstood the weight. Lastly, the built in weather lining is a great additional feature that comes in handy in the NE and NW woods with the random inclement weather systems we have.
Pros:
- Large, comfortable and easily packs.
Best Used for:
- Hunting, multi day hiking, military purposes

I'm in the military and plan on doing heavy load ruck marches and was curious as to how much weight this pack can handle. And now I have to put 200 characters in to post this question and looks like I

I actually bought the gunslinger before I bought the battleship pack. Great pack but was a little small so I purchased the battleship a week later.. WOW, what a difference!!!! More room than needed..this pack was great for my first trip with it..I actually brought more than I needed, but didn't notice the weight difference in the long run. The pack was definately comfortable for the long walk...the best pack I've ever purchased...

I have been looking for a larger pack for a while now. After many hours of research, I came across this Eberlestock pack. I decided to take the chance on it. I have not regretted it at all. Comfortable and adjustable fit, Strong materials, and a great layout of storage. You will not go wrong if you need a large pack for those extended missions.
Pros:
- Confortable
- durable
- Great layout

Battleship - the name fits. Military tactical type pack. I prefer external frame packs such as the Cabela's Alaska Guide ($200) or a Kelty Tioga ($179) but they are too small, only 5500 cu in. or so. For an internal frame, this pack is very adjustable. It's just as sturdy as the biggest Kelty, Jansport, and other 100 Liter or Mystery Ranch or even some Kifaru or Alaskan Range 120 Liter bags. It is very well built. The extra molle webbing and internal pockets are a great help when you need to layer up fast when the snow really starts falling wicked hard. The big zipper pulls work with gloves on! It has both the required top opening and side openings. It has 2 side handles and a top handle for lifting. You can tie these handles with a rope and suspend the pack from a tree. It is easier to get the 75 pounder on. This is sorta important when you are on snowshoes or skis. (Ayuh, picture an upside down turkle). Eberlestock has a video on how to make all of the adjustments that when done properly. allow you to carry a really big bulky load that you need for hiking and extended camping in wintah. (Do you 'member last summah? I think it was on a Tuesday this year.) An extra large built in rain cover hides down in a pouch on the bottom of the pack. The rain cover is attached to a clip with an elastic bungie strap so the cover doesn't parachute in the wind blow away off the mountain. (Duoh!) The v90 has a lot of compression straps and some outside pockets. You can get clever. (You can f...

I have backpacked, camped, and hunted for over 30 years and this is the best backpack I have ever owned. It has great pockets, straps, and it is hydration system compatible. So far this pack has held up great and looks like its still new (I've used it for over two years now). I couldn't realistically think of any improvements. It a heavy beast but that's because it's large. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Pros: Big enough for all weather gear, tough, quiet.
Cons: Heavy ( because its large )
