Most Helpful Positive Review Fit's Like a Glove!

I just installed my new Ed Brown Flat/Chainlink III 1911 Two-Piece Magwell in my Colt 1911 from Optic Planet's sister website Dvor.com. Took less than 10 minutes and all you really need is a couple rubber bands, two punches (1/16 and 3/32) and a pair of safety glasses. If you really want a finished look, you might opt to purchase new grips that are flat, not beveled on the bottom. I am sticking with my factory originals for now. Very happy with texture of mainspring housing, overall fit and finish. Would highly recommend.

Tisas b45r carry

I wasnt sure if this would work in my tisas but it fit just right. The only thing is, is it didnt work with the factory beavertail so i bought the ed browns beaver tail to go with it, to keep it one brand know they were made with eachother. You can make the magwell work with the tisas grip safety but you would need to "fit" the magwell(grind down the mating surface the so grip safety can come up more).

For full size kimber raptor 2 other than that it was good looks good not exact flush for kimber tac grips but i am oveall pleased with product ed brown to kimber was expected to not be perfect but im no rook

Fantastic upgrade

Easy to install. Changes the feel and makes reloads much easier. The funnel/mag well blends in very nicely with the existing frames. Replaced the existing grips with magwell cut grips which makes the finished product look much better.

Fits nicely on springfield1911 a1

I love this product.Fits well with my springfield 1911a1 full size model.Nice craftsmanship and feels good on the grip.Easily installed.It does not come with pin.It came with allen wrench x1 but I will still recommend it.

Dropped Right In

A true drop-in part, no fitting required, mainspring housing fitted very well in my Sig 1911 without any wiggle. Also great it is a two-piece option, it allowed me to aligned the magwell to the magazine port. A little loctite 242 and it stayed put even after 100x magazine insertions. Also it looked great mitigating the awkward look of the extended 8rd magazine base plates. I liked it so much I bought two more for my other 1911s.

Great Magwell and Main Sprign Housing

I put this on a Springfield 1911-A1. Went on with NO modifications. Not even any filing to break edges - NOTHING!

As for fit, it is great! I have large hands, so I was glad to get rid of the beveled, stock main-spring housing. I also like the added length with the magwell. Overall, fit and finish are top of the line as expected for Ed Brown products. I am buying a second for my other 1911.
