Good addition to my pistol
I have two of these now and love both of them. The form and function are a great addition to S&W Metal frame 2.0’s. Just make sure you buy the one labeled for the metal frame, if you have the metal frame pistol. The labeling is very subtle, but it is there. Otherwise you will get the one made for the polymer frame and will almost fit, but won’t. It will drive you mad, if you order the wrong one by accident. The only negative I had was the shipping. My first set was in stock, but took several days for my order to be processed. The second order took two weeks to arrive. No fault on optics planet, USPS delivered it to my city, then shipped it back to Chicago, then back to a different city, then finally to my city and local postal office. Just be prepared to wait.

Ed Brown 2.0 Metal Magwel
I had previously used the Tyrant magwel because I could utilize the factory 17 round mags without swapping the base pads. Well they don’t work with the 2.0 Metal pistols. So Ed Brown has been my go to for 1911 parts for years.
First off, the quality is too notch and the installation was a breeze. This is a true EDC magwel vs Tyrants, which is more aesthetic than functional.
Second…. The factory 2.0 23 round magazines need to be trimmed off to fit without binding. I removed the base pad and used a cutting board and a new razor knife to trim off approximately an 1/8 inch off the top. Put the mags back together and it’s a perfect fit.
For my 17 round mags I bought the EB +2 base pads which I really like, separate review on those.

Ed brown Magwell m&p
Magwell works great on my m&p metal. Reloads are so much quicker and easier, the mag goes right in with no snags. Great product
