Ordered this as part of an ongoing project to improve and dress up my RIA 1911 a bit. Install was straight forward, after pulling the RIA MSH out of the gun during a full detail strip. I swapped the internals over from the old MSH (which turns out was a very well done checkered flat metal housing, not the plastic I'd anticipated when I bought the gun, based on internet forums) with zero issues aside from the usual pain in the neck in getting the MSH retainer pin in place. Installed the new magwell MSH on the pistol and it looks great! Fit is nice and tight, but not overly so. Magwell sits nearly flush to the base of the frame - have to hold it just right to see a sliver of light protruding. I could probably adjust the magwell arms a bit but it's not noticeable so I'll leave it alone. Inside the magwell, the arms align to the frame (which was already slightly beveled internally) very well, so no fitting or smoothing was required. Overall, This piece is great, and the black color matches the RIA factory black accessory color on the beavertail grip safety, hammer, thumb safety, and slide release, so it looks like it came from the factory with this magwell MSH. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a simple, secure, quality upgrade. I considered the Ed Brown part with the cap screw holding the magwell arms to the MSH, but decided I thought this one had zero chance of shaking loose with it's tongue-in-groove style fitment. That was a little fiddly to get perfectly...
