Most Helpful Positive Review Why EOTech EXPS3 and not Aimoint T2

Lets face it, if you are in the market for a red dot you are in between the EXPS and the T2. Why? Well, because these two are the kings of red dots. There are a lot of reasons as to why you should get an EOTech and only one reason why you should get an Aimpoint. That reason is battery life. T2 wins ...

The Best Sight for NODs

by Tom in Ohio, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on October 9, 2026

This is a proven sight that has long provided the best sight picture for such sights. I have preferred Aimpoint and Trijicon RDSs, though, for their better battery life. For use under NODs, the EoTech is superior. I bought this to put on a dedicated night rifle and not a home defense or duty rifle on which I like to leave the optic turned on all the time. It’s a great sight for deliberate, planned uses like SWAT call outs.

Pros:

Durability
Night Vision capabilities
Best sight picture

Cons:

Battery Life

Best Used for:

Night Operations
Swat operations

Eotech EXPS3-0

by Hollee Castillo, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on September 10, 2026

Fast and reliable I was skeptical at first because it is super cheap with their “Blazin’ Deal” and we all know that there’s a lot of counterfeit out there but Optics Planet is legit the cheapest and legit optics seller online.

Cool Optic!

by Mikey, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on August 25, 2026

Awesome product! I haven’t much to compare it to as I’m green in the community. I installed it easy on my new .300 BO pistol. Haven’t zeroed it yet either but my dry fire and range day were easy to acquire the dot. Shipping was a breeze. Arrived earlier than expected. All things were bubble wrapped to the T. I believe these things should come with covers though for safe keeping while being mounted.

Awesome optic!

by Eric, Verified Owner from ME, United States Written on August 24, 2026

I really like the design of the EOTech holographic sights. Super easy to get on target especially for quick follow up shoits. The design is rock solid and built like a T-34. It has taken a lot of abuse and remains very reliable. The only complaint I have is the Battery life and the 2 button shut off. I have sometimes thought that I had shut it off only to find out that I hadn't made sufficient contact with both buttons and I only managed to change the brightness setting and it was left on. The battery life is definitely something to consider and leaving it on by accident will drain the batteries quickly. All in all it is the best red dot on the market for me but YMMV.

Pros:

easy to use
Built In Mount
Circle dot is easier to find quickly
Lightweght

Cons:

Battery Life
2 button shut off

Eotech meprolight and veridian are the only sights worth using. This model is great and it’s surprising OpticsPlanet has them on inventory
