While they are light weight and hold the Rx lenses in place properly, they are thick enough to interfere with peripheral vision. The wire ones may be better, I'll try them next time.
Pros: relatively inexpensive, lightweight
Cons: way too thick

I didn't buy these thru Optic planet but another company. The frames are cheap and won't stay on the glasses. Save your money
Pros: Inserts are ok if you can find another pair of glasses
Cons: Frames won't stay on glasses

Very pleased with system so far, but lenses can be very difficult to change.
I would buy someplace other than OpticsPlanet next time. They goofed up my order and it has been multiple contacts and still not straightened out.
Pros: Allows use of 1 set RX lenses with multiple color shields
Cons: Some interference with eyelashes at times
Would recommend: Yes

I've purchased this item along with ICE ESS 2.4 as a gift for my friend. He is hunter/recreational shooter. He also needs quite heavy corrections but can't wear contact lenses because of allergic issues.
Now he has his eyes protected and his vision clear and properly corrected.
He likes the combination so much that he even started to wear it while on skis in mountains :)
Highly recommend!
Pros: lightweight and sturdy
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes

For thos of use that need prescription safety glasses, this is a less expensive option to full custom made and the safety glass is full protection.
Pros: Less obrtrusive than the nylon ones
Cons: Some difficulty installing until learned

I actually purchased the wire frame inserts.
I looked at a number of options for eye protection and finally settled on the ESS Eyeshields.
The RX insert work fairly well with the ESS eyeshield, but needs to be a little easier to snap into the holder/nose piece. The holder/nose piece snaps into the eyeshield fairly easily. It is also nice to be able to switch between clear and tinted glasses as needed due to inside or outside conditions.
When you need wraparound eye protection, but also need to have prescription glasses. These work well and are less expensive than other options.
Pros: Adds prescription options to eyeshield
Cons: Hard to snap into holder
Would recommend: Yes

I bought these RX wireframe inserts for the ESS ICE 3 Eyeshield System to use for target shooting. It takes a little practice, learning how to mount the insert/lenses onto the nose piece, and mount the nose piece into the eyeshield, especially without getting fingerprints on the lenses or the eyepiece in the process. These frames, as opposed to the black plastic inserts, give a wide, unobstructed field of view. The optician had no trouble installing the lenses. The inserts come with a dummy set of lenses, so the optician can see the exact shape of the lenses necessary to fit them to the eyeshield. The only negative aspect I have found is that in low light conditions, where there are bright objects, there is internal reflection between the eyeshield and the insert lenses. I guess I could have bought anti-reflective lenses, but this is not a fault of the insert. It's not a problem outdoors or in the lighting conditions of an indoor range, so it doesn't really matter much to me. I did not experience the focus problem that I read in a couple of other reviews related to the angle of the lenses (wraparound vs flat plane). I am pleased with this system, and would recommend it to others.
Pros: Light weigt, wide unobstructed field of view
Cons: Learnig to fit the insert onto the nose piece and onto the eyeshield, low light internal reflection
Would recommend: Yes
