Purchased this for a Howa Mini action and on install found that the mounting holes through the base were very rough cut and slightly under sized were the supplied mounting screws would not seat in the mounting holes. Was getting ready for a yote hunt so I ended up doing a home fix which I should have never had to do but time was a factor so an exchange for other base was not a option. I have used other mounts from this manufacturer before without issue but for the money spent this item should have been perfect out of the package.

great mount-fits perfectly on my Howa 1500 mini.Hard to find a scope mount for the Howa 1500 min series rifle.

This particular "pic rail" was purchased for a couple mini action Howa's. I noticed on the chassis models that this rail would not mount properly unless it was modified. I ended up having to cut off a 1/2 an inch or so at the front of this mount in order for it to fit on the chassis 6.5 Grendel "American Flag" offerings from Legacy. Once it was modified, cleaned up and given a quick coat of black finish on the cut end, it fit fine. The other mini actions with 'regular stocks', built or bought, the rails mounted just fine. I would recommend this rail if this is the style you like on a regular "hunting model" or you plan on changing optics often. If not, you may want to consider a direct mounted base and ring (4 piece set) sets for this application and the chassis system. I gave it four stars because it is not truly a mount that will fit "all mini action rifles from Howa", as it basically implies.

It should be noted that this mount is aluminum. This could be a boon for some. It does save weight for those who are counting ounces and plan on using aluminum rings.

As soon as I buy a new rifle this is my go to. I don’t even think twice about this base. Always perfect , always in spec. I have gone as far as epoxy bed these bases on my heavy caliber guns and the results at long range is unbelievable.

Purchased for my new Howa Mini Bolt Action 1500 6.5 Grendel. The fit was perfect, the install was quick and easy and took only a few minutes. The quality top notch and looks great on the rifle. Thread lock "loc tite" is recommended and is not included.

Used this rail to mount a Viper Crossfire II 6-18 x 44 with medium vortex viper rings on a Howa 1500 short action. The rail mounted and fit to the action perfectly. This rail does extend out beyond the front most mounting holes of the action. This extended bit of rail prevented my from sliding the scope back far enough to obtain proper eye relief. The rail makes contact with the objective lens. I did not measure but I think extra tall rings may be needed to get over the rail. I intend to order a better scope to mount on this gun and may cut the excess off of the rail if needed at that time.
