The stove cover is a solid replacement. There’s a lot of things involved to ensure fitment so take one thing at a time. I replaced my stock and discovered at the same time only to find out the hardware on the stock, kept the spring bolt from sliding all the way back in position and allowing the dust cover to be locked into its position. I plan to shoot to check if zero is held with my red dot sight, but I see no less of a chance with this than I did with the slide on attachment previously in place.

There is a learning curve to installation and unfortunately, no instructions are included. After a couple of you tube videos I was able to install. It was a super tight fit. In fact, after 50 rounds, my Vortex Spark optic held zero without fail. Aesthetically, it looks great and doesn’t look anachronistic on a traditional wood furniture AKM.
Pros:
- Fit and finish. Holds zero
Best Used for:
- Optic mounting solution for modern AKM

Installing on an Arsenal milled receiver it seems the forward lip was just a micron too thick to allow it to go fully forward. Did not want to touch it with a file, voiding any return. Gave it a few whacks with a firm rubber mallet, so close but no luck. Took it to my gun guru. He fiddled a while, then finally grabbed a nylon hammer and started giving it the baby seal treatment. I was beginning to freak out a little, but relieved when it snapped into place. Followed up with very light file work. A bigger hammer is always the answer.

Product is advertised to not all AKM style weapons. It did not fit my WASR 10. I believe it was a defect on the manufacturers end

Bought this because I really like the look of the dust cover and wanted picitanny rails for my ak. Couldn’t find any info on whether it fit on PSA Aks so I decided to just find out myself. Did not fit my PSA 556 Ak (Also called AR-K) need to send to gun shop for fitting. Maybe different PSA patterns may work but at least for the one I have it does not

Seems like a well made product but unfinished as far as the machining they shouldn’t advertise it as no smithing required. Where the front of the cover fits into the curved slot of the barrel trunnion above the bolt carrier, was to thick and needs to be shaved down my experience anyway. Ended up buying a cover from Texas weapon systems and this will go in a box for a someday maybe build super disappointing! And really expensive for what you get.
Cons:
- Really Really! Expensive and some fitting probably required
Best Used for:
- Paper weight or a really expensive figit toy for your desk

I am very happy with the very tight fit of this on my arsenal sam7sf. It has no play whatsoever and looks like a very nice piece. The 2 points of contact on the front is held in by spring pressure from the top of the botton part where the rear sight lays and has the portion that slides into the space where the standard part of the receiver cover goes into, and the rear portion is tightened down on the recoil guide rod takedown lever. No play whatsoever and I highly recommend this product.
