I was a bit hesitant to try one of these out as there are a huge number of much cheaper emergency lanterns on the market. All I can say is that ALL hesitation has been put to rest and after trying one out, I bought another. VERY solid and well made, capable of a little light if needed or a very high degree of light (will easily light up a large room in complete darkness with enough light to read and then some). Also, seems to hold power for a considerably long time. These are really excellent. Also, quite small and easily packable - take up very little room.
