My first Fobus that doesn't fit. Steyr M40.

by JOmega, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on March 8, 2024
I really like several other Fobus holsters I have for other guns. Not this one. The description says that it fits the Steyr M40; however, there was no way possible to make it fit. Unlike some kydex holsters that have adjustable screws to tune retention, this holster has only rivets. The fit was not even close and there is no way to adjust it. In general I recommend Fobus holsters, but if you're looking for one for a Steyr handgun then this is not the one you want.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • did not fit
Would recommend: No

Simple, and worth the money!

by The Portuguese HillBilly, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on August 9, 2017
This holster is exactly as advertised. It holds my CZ 75B very securely and is very comfortable against my body. It isn't much to look at, but it does it's job well. It is strong and light in weight and easily adjusted.
Pros:
  • Light in weight and secure
Cons:
  • plain black finish
Best Used for:
  • OWB

Perfect for the HK usp compact 40!!

by HKguy, from TN, United States Written on April 13, 2017
I actually didnt buy the holster after any reviews, I needed a good holster that would hold up. I was looking at Academy sporting goods and found it on sale. Perfect. I looked at where and who made the holster. A holster choice shouldn't be made on a whim, but I got lucky. Very vsry lucky. I saw that it was made in Israel, good tbey know what works, and it came with a lifetime warranty. For a holster? Best purchase for that sidearm I have ever made. Its comfortable, doesn't wad up your pants when the paddle is used, and has excellent retention. The best daily carry holster I've found for the HK.

1911 Roto Paddle Holster

by rickh, from TN, United States Written on February 18, 2016
Delivery time was adequate and item arrived in good shape. Roto paddle is easily adjusted and is recommended for those who prefer a weapon vertical position. Inspite of the claim for concealed carry i could not find a hip or cross draw position that conceals the weapon.
The holster does not fit tightly around my Colt LW Commander, allows the weapon to slightly rattle around the inside. A tension adjustment is required to prevent that.
Pros:
  • lightweight, inexpensive
Cons:
  • Not a good fit for the Colt LW Commander
  • Needs a tension adjustment
Best Used for:
  • open field carry

9mm Taurus

by Vff1303, from GA, United States Written on February 1, 2016
It fits generation 1. fits waist great. High enough so gun not showing under short jacket. Angles so car seats not pushing gun up or butt not being twisted into you from back of seat. Tension adjustment would have scored 5 stars, not needed not but don't know after lotta wear!
Great service from Optics Planet.
No complaints!

Tight for a Model 69 Combat Magnum

by Shoeless Joe, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on January 27, 2016
Fit is too tight for sleeved barrel of my Model 69 .44 Combat Magnum. I thought this might be the case, but the price was right and I was willing to modify it. I ground out the rivets and replaced them with #8 screws and nylok nuts. Washers between the holster halves fixed the fit issue. In any case, I probably would have replaced the rivet adjoining the trigger guard, just to provide some adjustability of the retention. I own two other Fobus holsters, and they both have screws near the trigger guard for retention adjustment. The roto mount is a great feature. I'll use the paddle mount, but I've also ordered the belt mount. Great for field carry in wet weather.
Pros:
  • Quick draw
  • Adjustable angle
  • Belt mount available
  • Laughs at the rain
  • Open bottom allows longer barrels
Cons:
  • No retention adjustment
  • Tight fit on an L frame Model 69

Fobus GL3RP Holster

by Scoop, from AZ, United States Written on December 2, 2015
I keep reading the same emails about this holster for the people carrying the Glock 21 Gen 4. I have a couple of easy quick fixes for you, and they work. #1- If you have some spray silicon, apply a small amount to a rag or cloth and lightly wipe down the inside of the holster. #2- When drawing the firearm, DO NOT!!! try and lift straight upward out of the holster. With your hand firmly on the firearm, push forward and then upward in one swift motion. Trying to lift straight upward causes resistance from the trigger guard. #3- Just keep at it, drawing and holstering over and over. If and when the crazy person that wants to try and take your firearm from you, sneaks up behind you, they will be pulling backward on it and it wont come out. Thats why it has great tension, same as your having problems with.Do these three steps and I promise you will like this holster. I have three of them, for my G21 Gen4, Ruger SR9C, Rossi 38 Spec.

Just what I've been looking for !

by Boat, from AL, United States Written on November 21, 2015
I've been looking for the perfect paddle holster for a long time. This Fobus paddle holster fits the bill. It's very lightweight and fits your body perfectly. It holds your pistol very snugly. Very unlikely for it to fall out. I highly recommend the Fobus paddle holsters. I'm buying several for Christmas presents.
Pros:
  • lightweight, quality build, ocp (multicam), awesome hydration system
Cons:
  • None
